AhMy parents do. Same with movies and video games.
Loads of violence or even drugs=no reaction though. Like I said last night, in Elder Scrolls people don't drink water. There is mead, ale and wine.
Oh and skooma, which is like a narcotic. It's even illegal in the world ES takes place in.
Mom says she sees no point in forbidding such things when we're going to be exposed to them anyway. Although sometimes I worry there's going to be something she's not okay with me doing. Like that time a few months ago when I smoked weed with my best friend's group and when I finally admitted it to Mom, I thought she'd get really upset at me and forbid me from hanging out with them or something.
She didn't even look up from her work and said: "Elizabeth, EVERYONE smokes weed! Your grandparents, your aunt, your older cousin....even I've smoked weed when I was your age!"
My parents say that they can't control me being exposed to it at school, but they can here.Wow. I'm all for letting your kids have privileges and not being restrictive, but sometimes I wonder if she's a little TOO lenient. I'm sorry if that upset you >.<

Wow. How do you feel about that?My parents' rules ((for now >:D)) keep me from really bad stuff like GTA and South Park, which if you know anything about those, you can probably see why. But like in Skyrim...it's brutal and violent and there are violent drunks and stuff...but they use profane words that you can say on TV and made up cuss words and the most sexual thing is getting married and then men in women in their undergarments when either you take off all your equipped apparel...or you strip a corpse clean :D
I don't really like it. I mean, sure it's cool how my mom is really open for discussions about sexual things I have questions about or drugs and stuff like that and she's really into anime and video games and stuff, but I kinda wish she had some kind of rules. My brothers have grown up to become super unruly and wild because of her laxness, and are really wild in school too. She used to be fairly strict when I was younger, but after my baby brother was born, she stopped caring about her previous set rules and let us do whatever we wanted.
That's what i believe. There needs to be SOME sort of rule and consequence system to keep order and make sure you guys are raised in a good way. I don't agree with overly strict parents, nor do I agree with parents who have little to no rules. As with all things in life, there must be balance between order and rules...and freedom and privilege.
And I think my parents have a good balance. I can play, watch and read many things, so long as I understand they're fictitious and I know not to try them in real life. SO I can play stuff like Skyrim which has brutal chaos and I can read stuff like Harry Potter with witchcraft, but as long as I get it's pretend and don't try summoning daedra from Oblivion or Avada Kedavra someone ((unless I were like doing a roleplay; I mean ACTUALLY attempting it)) then it's all good.Then the line is drawn at extreme stuff like, again GTA, South Park, Deadpool, etc. And I'm cool with that.
Tell my mom that. She says she doesn't really see the need for rules when we're going to find someway to break them anyway. That's also why she doesn't punish my brothers unless they annoy her too much.
Well I think Mom's right. Like she used to ban us from watching explicit shows, but we would secretly watch them when she wasn't around anyway, so she eventually got rid of that rule since she couldn't enforce it anymore.
Ah well now when you add that note into the equation...I thought she just never cared.I've gotten away with some stuff, but other stuff I'd never get away with. Like I couldn't buy games I'm not allowed to play because if it were on Steam I'd need my parent's debit card to pay and if it were at the store they'd see it and it'd be on the receipt. And it's not a big deal because I have other stuff to watch and play.
Well she doesn't care anymore lol. Like I said before, she acts like a sixteen-year-old girl. She loves to tell me about her fictional crushes and about her period and how she's excited to make alcohol for me when I turn 21.
Well that stuff not even I would count as not caring or whatever, that's just "girl talk" if you will.I keep telling my mom that when I turn 21 she's going to teach me about alcohol and stuff. She's a wine drinker and I think I'd rather have wine than like...beer and whiskey and stuff. I mean I might try that, but wine just seems fancier :p
I'm sure most moms don't talk like that to their daughters :P She's on her period right now and complained to me this morning about how her periods are getting extremely heavy since she's eating better now and how annoying it is for her since she's going through pads like crazy.

Mom started watching a show we were supposed to watch together without me! Because of course she did. She said she had no idea I wanted to watch it even though I told her several times I wanted to, then said I wouldn't like it anyway, even though she also said I wouldn't like Bleach and it's one of my most favorite anime series now. She said she wouldn't watch any more of the anime, but I told her to do it anyway. I can't believe I thought for a minute she genuinely cared about my feelings.

Also, periods ARE gross. I'd probably start to cry if I ever admitted to anyone I was on mine. I'm extremely embarrassed by mine.
I'm sure they are.I understand. I'm just saying that I wouldn't be annoyed if a girl told me, like most guys are.
Meanwhile I'm still trying to find that special something my fanfic needs. Mom says I should just go ahead and post it, but I'm not ready yet.

Reminds me of when my ex-boyfriend found an old video on an old video camera we used to have, and I warned him not to watch it since basically my baby brother had gotten naked and filmed himself dancing with it while I was taking a bath so I obviously couldn't stop him, and my ex-boyfriend asked what was on the video. I simply said I was taking a bath while it was being filmed, so he thought it was a video of me taking a bath and immediately started playing it. A few minutes later he walked into my bedroom and slammed his head against the wall, then said: "THAT WASN'T YOU TAKING A BATH AT ALL!!!!" I laughed so hard at that lol.
