I'm actually reading and finishing books it's so surreal for me lol
I am getting lowkey insulted by all of these people saying the names in Carve the Mark are 'stupid' or 'weird' like....these names are modeled after an actual language that actual people speak from an actual country. You guys are saying the book is racist, yet you're going to say the Tajik language has stupid names? Uh-huh sure, you're being super inclusive. That's not prejudiced at all.
I hate that stupid Pogo-It ad on YouTube. The actual product and commercial are fine, I'm just sick of getting that commercial over and over again!

I'm a Christian, but I'm so sick of these movies, and I'm so sick of the mentality they encourage. When I see these movies, I feel that the heart of American Christianity is no longer love, but victimhood. And I am NOT a victim. I REFUSE to be a victim. Recognition of long-held, albeit taken for granted privilege, and wanting to extend those same privileges to people who are NOT Christians, is NOT persecution. Guess what? There are atheist assholes. There are Muslim assholes. Guess what else? There are Christian assholes, too! But whether or not you are an asshole is not inherent on your faith, or lack thereof. It's in the way you treat others. And if you act like Josh in this movie, then you, good sir/madam/etc....have good intentions. I understand that you want to defend your faith. But the truth does not need defending. The truth can speak for itself. You want to be a Christian? SHOW IT. SHOW me loving God. SHOW me loving your neighbor as yourself. SHOW me living like Jesus, and not always focusing on his death. All too often, we Christians tend to point to his death. But his LIFE was just as important, if not more so. He showed us a better, kinder way of living. And I'm afraid that we are seeing the evolution of Christians into the Pharisees that Jesus so vehemently stood against. If we are the bride of Christ, then we truly have gone bridezilla on God's ass. If Jesus came back TODAY, I know that he would not recognize his church. We need to turn back the clock. You want to make faith-based films? Fine, more power to you! But don't make something that's pandering and humiliating. Make EVERY character likable and redeemable, and not just in the being saved department. And for God's sake, ENOUGH WITH THE MOVIES CATERING TO A VICTIM COMPLEX. God's word is supposed to be inspiring, make us stronger, not perpetuate a sense of victimhood and woe is me. We need more Prince of Egypts. There's a difference between eating a few too many cookies or a Thanksgiving dinner compared to eating so much you projectile vomit.
I didn't say anything to her despite my offense since I knew she didn't mean anything bad from it and I didn't want a huge thing to break out, but hey, that's what this journal is for, right?

Technically they mean the same thing, but if you develop the eating disorder then it's called binge eating disorder. A lot of medical professionals have started to call it compulsive overeating, but I don't really like that term.

I don't know, compulsive overeating doesn't sound very good to me. It makes it sound less severe than it actually is, while binge eating disorder actually sounds like a real problem.
