Funny book. Probably YA. Fairy tale with a princess, a unicorn who had something funny about it (it might have been male or something), and a guy who turns into a depressed poet for a short amount of time. There may have been like a thief too. I think it was part of a series but not like all the same story; they were different books about similar things. The cover was maybe pink?

Might be the Five Hundred Kingdoms series by Mercedes Lackey. The depressed poet came in The Sleeping Beauty, where princes on a quest to win a princess have to return cursed items to a dragon's hoard. One of the princes turns into a bad poet, and starts wanting to wear black; and singing about the darkness in his soul.The cover was definitely pink,https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.c...
