Mercedes | 257 comments I have a question already! Lol. For the moderator challenge, will there be any books added to favorite lists as the year goes on?

Probably not. I think they will stay as they are now.

message 4: by Micheala (new)

Micheala | 1458 comments Hey, to verify "A", "An" and "The" don't count for the Yearly Title challenge right? Like I never got around to reading The Goal by Elle Kennedy.
That wouldn't count for T, right.
But would it therefore count as G?

message 5: by Dee (new)

Dee | 851 comments Yeah The Goal would be listed on G ☺

message 6: by Kat J (new)

Kat J (katjphoenix) | 378 comments For the moderator challenge - Do we have to state upfront which books we are planning to read or we can create/update the post as we finish reading/re-reading them?

Dee | 851 comments Felicia wrote: "For the moderator challenge - Do we have to state upfront which books we are planning to read or we can create/update the post as we finish reading/re-reading them?"

There is no specific way. Some members have listed books already and others haven't. It is up to you :)

message 8: by Cindy (new)

Cindy (cindylom) | 19 comments On the yearly challenge, if I read a book called 47 Things, can I use that for the title of F?

message 9: by Dee (new)

Dee | 851 comments Cindy wrote: "On the yearly challenge, if I read a book called 47 Things, can I use that for the title of F?"

Yeah that is fine. I would even consider the T (things) as an option if you need.

message 10: by Maureen (last edited Jan 22, 2017 01:26PM) (new)

Maureen (mleeper5) | 65 comments Just another idea to run by you for another option on the yearly alphabet challenge... how about A-Z on location/cities? I don't know about x (but maybe a word that has x in it, like Texas)...

message 11: by Dee (new)

Dee | 851 comments That's a good idea. It is hard to monitor with that. I might try to incorporate it in s monthly challenge.

message 12: by Maureen (new)

Maureen (mleeper5) | 65 comments Sounds good to me! :)

message 13: by Hanne (new)

Hanne | 758 comments Questions about the yearly challenge
1) for the option first name author, can I use the first letter of the second first name of an author, like the R for Aurora Rose Reynolds? If yes, does that also count for, for example C.A. Harms (the A)?

2) I assume I can't use books I read during the option I'm completing now (but not using) for another option?

message 14: by Dee (new)

Dee | 851 comments Hi Hanne, authors name will be first name so A for Aurora, not R for Rose. As for the second question, it may be coz it's late here but I don't understand the question. Can you give me more information please?

message 15: by Hanne (new)

Hanne | 758 comments Dee wrote: "Hi Hanne, authors name will be first name so A for Aurora, not R for Rose. As for the second question, it may be coz it's late here but I don't understand the question. Can you give me more informa..."

Ok. Then I still need a few letters for that option. I have a feeling that the letter U will be difficult for both author options and the character. So if someone has an idea, let me know!

Sorry. I chose the option 'Series'. For example, if I read GearShark #4 (#Blur) by Cambria Hebert and Groupie #1 (Groupie) by Susan Daugherty before I complete the option 'Series'. I pick Groupie #1 for the option - letter G. Can I use #Blur for the next option?

message 16: by Mercedes (new)

Mercedes | 257 comments Can we work on an author/character/title list simultaneously? Or do we need to complete all of the title, then start the author etc.?

message 17: by Dee (new)

Dee | 851 comments Mercedes wrote: "Can we work on an author/character/title list simultaneously? Or do we need to complete all of the title, then start the author etc.?"

Yes of course you can. However you can't use the same book twice.

message 18: by Dee (new)

Dee | 851 comments Hanne wrote: "Dee wrote: "Hi Hanne, authors name will be first name so A for Aurora, not R for Rose. As for the second question, it may be coz it's late here but I don't understand the question. Can you give me ..."

I must be having a moment because I still don't understand but I will answer what you may mean and if I didn't answer it let me know.

Books can't be a reread or if used in one option can't be used again in another option. In the series option you use the first book in a series or the next book in a series if it is a series you haven't finished yet. If you double them up because they both fit you could use one in another option, as long as you have one in each letter of the alphabet that matches the option chosen.

I hope I have stumbled on an answer for you, if not let me know.

I was wondering the same thing as Mercedes did, but she just asked it better. I also kind of got my answer by your answer. Thanks!
English isn't my first language and it sounded good in my head, but it wasn't apparently. Sorry

message 21: by Dee (new)

Dee | 851 comments Hi Ana, yes you can

Thank you! :D I'm glad we can you chose more than one option at the same time. Good luck with the challenge!

message 26: by Mercedes (new)

Mercedes | 257 comments For the moderator challenge, some have favorite authors listed, if I read something from a favorite author that isn't on their list does that count?

message 27: by Dee (new)

Dee | 851 comments Mercedes wrote: "For the moderator challenge, some have favorite authors listed, if I read something from a favorite author that isn't on their list does that count?"

Yes if they have an authors name listed eg. Derna has Jay McLean so you can read any books from that author. However I don't have any authors so my list is just the books listed.

message 28: by Krissy (new)

Krissy | 71 comments Hi Dee, I have a question for the March challenge.
When I first read the post I thought it said for the book to have green on it. I misread...so I am assuming that Beautiful Player (Beautiful Bastard, #3) by Christina Lauren doesn't have enough green. How about The Hooker and the Hermit (Rugby, #1) by L.H. Cosway ...is this enough green?
Thanks

message 29: by Dee (new)

Dee | 851 comments Hi Krissy, the bonus point/s is for green covers so it should be predominantly (mostly) green to be included. Can't make it too easy

message 31: by Kat J (new)

Kat J (katjphoenix) | 378 comments For the March Challenge,
1) Is the max number of points for the month 5?
2) Can we read more than 1 book per number of words in the title without finishing all 5? e.g. will it count if i read 3 1-word titles but nothing else?

1. 10 points on offer if you find 5 books with green covers. Without green covers it is maximum of 5 points.
2. no, "choose 1 book for each category"

message 33: by Kat J (new)

Kat J (katjphoenix) | 378 comments thanks Dee!

message 34: by Maureen (new)

Maureen (mleeper5) | 65 comments I did notice that the yearly challenge said to do one list at a time... are we not able to use books that don't qualify (we have more than one of a certain letter on one list)... for another list throughout the year?

Example:
Book 1 - 3/1/17 - used for title list
Book 2 - 2/15/17 - used for character list....

Since book 2 was used for a character and was read before title list was completed... can we use it for the next list? I'm not sure how to explain this...

I have put spoilers on my lists to keep track throughout the year to make it easier to get more books instead of waiting to finish a list before starting on the next one. Does this work, or that list rule is there for a reason other than shrinking the post?

message 35: by Mercedes (last edited Mar 28, 2017 09:02PM) (new)

Mercedes | 257 comments For the March challenge, does 'The' at the beginning of a title count as a word? For example The Dream Thieves does that count as 2 words or 3?

message 36: by Dee (new)

Dee | 851 comments Mercedes wrote: "For the March challenge, does 'The' at the beginning of a title count as a word? For example The Dream Thieves does that count as 2 words or 3?"

Yes that would be a 3 word title :)

I can see now that you might like to have multiple going at the same time. What you have done with your post is fine. The A-Z can be easily viewed by clicking the spoiler link.

As long as the books are not used for both challenges you can do two at the same time. That means that if you finish 2 challenges you will have 52 different books.

Did I answer everything?

message 38: by Maureen (new)

Maureen (mleeper5) | 65 comments Yes. I appreciate it, Dee! :)

message 39: by Hanne (new)

Hanne | 758 comments Yearly challenge - both of author's options. If the book has multiple authors, can I use one author's name for this option, or do only books with one author count? For example: LH Cosway and Penny Reid (The Cad and the Co-Ed), can I then use the P for author's first name?

Either author is fine :)

Just add it to the booklist link and I will add it in :)
I am trying to build the booklists as well.

Elite (Eagle Elite, #1) by Rachel Van Dyken

message 47: by Mercedes (new)

Mercedes | 257 comments For the August challenge, I've already read the first two in the series, can I still count the last 3?

Previously read:
#Junkie (GearShark, #1) by Cambria Hebert #Rev (GearShark, #2) by Cambria Hebert

Would read during August:
#Swag (GearShark, #3) by Cambria Hebert #Blur (GearShark, #4) by Cambria Hebert #FinishLine (GearShark, #5) by Cambria Hebert

NA :)

message 50: by Hanne (new)

Hanne | 758 comments August monthly challenge: can you give a few books about 'A book from a different time period' so that I have a better idea about what kind of book you want?

Yearly challenge: does anyone have a book in mind about 'Author's last name that starts with X'?
