Mrs. Bennet is a piece of work and yes... that experience was well earned. On top of that... Collins, the pig, was 'in the house' and she needed to keep a football stadium length distance from his grasp and leering looks. Creepy, scum-bag... well, you get the picture.

I have the same opinion for you, my friend; thanks. How are you feeling and what is going on medically?
It's kind of you to ask. Well, it's been 10 days since my corticosteroid injection in the right hip. The doc said, no promises, but he'd be surprised if I didn't feel "miraculous results" once it kicks in. Gotta say, he was right. I'm still stiff if I've been sitting or standing a long time, but the stiffness goes away much, much quicker than in the past. I have the same limitation of movement (I haven't been able to cross my legs when I sit for over a year), but there's NO PAIN on the right side! That is a huge improvement. I had a doo wop performance last night, and normally I would be spending today in a lot of pain and discomfort. Instead, I'm only getting some twinges of discomfort on the left, which I can live with. Now the question remains of how long the effects of the shot will last. The doc's guess was about 2 months but, again, everyone is different and some find their symptoms return in only 2-3 weeks. Fingers are crossed and praying that my positive effects are of the long-lasting variety.
Debbie, will you be able to get another injection in 2/3 months' time? Or is it just a one off? I hope you remain pain free over the festive period.
Thanks, Sheila. And Mary, it sounds like I can get 3-4 injections a year. This one will hopefully get me into next year. Again, it's not a cure since it only treats the symptoms rather than the cause, which remains unchanged. I'm still thinking I may want to get the right hip replaced in early 2018. Probably February, after my husband and I get back from our already-booked vacation to Jamaica in late January.
Sounds like a good idea to have the first op. early next year. Just hope your vacation is pain free,Debbie.

Negril beach is lovely and so was the raft ride down the Rio Grand river...poled by a native and we ate lunch among some rocks. Hope you enjoy it.
Thanks, Mary and Wose. Sheila, this will be our third vacation in Jamaica. Love it there. First time was in Negril and second was Ocho Rios. This time we'll be on the outskirts of Monterey Bay, I believe. Staying at Secrets, an all-inclusive resort. Even if I'm not feeling my best, hanging at the beach or the pool shouldn't be too tough!
Sorry to hear you've been unwell Debbie. When you have your hip op you'll be a new person!! My mother had two, it gave her a new lease of life.
That's what I keep hearing, Teresa! Looking forward to it, though I'm not thrilled about all the PT I'll have to do. Oh, well. No pain, no gain!
To be honest Debbie, my mother was in her late seventies when she had the first one done and the second six months later and I couldn't believe how fast she got over it! In a matter of a couple of weeks she's was flying around on crutches and then no time after that she threw the crutches away. She never looked back.

This one follows canon very closely...except Darcy is married to Anne at the start...before he meets Elizabeth Bennet.
3.5 stars
Debbie gave it a 5 star review so I had to read it. I have a list of 5 star unpublished ones you all post so I can refer to it when I am looking for a good story. I recently read one sent to me in which Darcy is forced to marry Kitty when Mrs. Long mistakes Darcy for Wickham as W. is about to assault Kitty and she faints into his arms as D. stops W. Read 163 out of 224 and finally looked at the ending - no Elizabeth - HATED it. Didn't post it as I had not finished it. Did not have a review to read first - would have saved me a day's reading.
Sheila... OMG!!! I want to rip out my eyes just reading what you described. OMG!! I'd delete it from my library list too. Thanks for the warning. OMG!!! I wish I was a cyborg so I could delete that from my memory bank. Delete! Delete! De..........What was I talking about?
