I had a GR friend go off the grid for about a month with no warning and was SO relieved when she came back. It turns out she had relatives staying for an extended period. I was upset to have no way to find out anything. No, JW, I wasn't looking for anyone to pester Sheila or anyone else. It really applied to you all. ♥️

My older daughter, Nicole Gallela, posted news on her Face Book page. Joy found her there and commented back to me....so you could look for her, also.
Sheila wrote: "243.) President Darcy: A Modern Pride and Prejudice Variation 4.5 stars"You liked it more than I did!
Yes, I noticed your rating but we are allowed some difference in taste. I enjoyed it but would not read it again. Thus - not full 5 stars actually.
Has anyone been following this unpublished story: Reluctantly Mrs. Darcy A P&P Alternate Story where circumstances have forced our couple to unite before they loved each other or even knew each other. MA Started By FeliceB?http://meryton.com/aha/index.php?show...
It is unfinished and has lots of angst. The author assured me she is working on it but has children who take up her time.
This is also posting at FFnet.https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12183295...
but the last posting was the same in both places.
I have started it.
I started it before I realized that it was not complete. I do hope she is able to find time to complete it.
Sheila wrote: "I started it before I realized that it was not complete. I do hope she is able to find time to complete it."It's a good story. I also started one on AHA that is a modern day forced marriage (believable actually) but its being posted now. Its killing me waiting for installments.

Let me know when that modern day one is complete and give me the link so I can then read it...please and thank you.

Sheila, here's the link. I'm posting now so I don't forget. I'll also be posting it on my tracker when it's finished and I finish it. HA!

J. W. wrote: "Sheila wrote: "Has anyone been following this unpublished story: Reluctantly Mrs. Darcy A P&P Alternate Story where circumstances have forced our couple to unite before they loved each other or eve..."The story sheila posted or the other one? both are good. I'm caught up in both. The modern one she is currently posting so it should be getting updated soon.
I am now signed up to be notified when chapters are posted on both those stories (Unexpected & Reluctantly Mrs. Darcy) but will probably wait to read them until I see that they are finished. I lose the thread since I read so many stories if I have to wait days, weeks, months for new postings.
I started Reluctantly Mrs. Darcy... I just wanted to see how it started. I will probably also follow the notifications.

OMG! This is so good. The Prologue and the first four chapters have been flashbacks and leading us through a horrid life for Lizzy under Mrs. Bennet. However, we also see how she has survived with those that do care for her. This is a bud that is about to burst forth in full bloom if she has just a ray of sunshine on her. OMG! She is so smart. I am really liking this writing style and although there was a lot of history to present to us... it nicely laid a foundation for what is to come. I am hoping... just hoping Darcy's surprise will be a good one. He has no idea of the woman he has before him. Not all was revealed, so there is still some facts to be presented. I look forward to following this. I can see why y'all were excited by it. I am loving it. When D&E get all their ducks in a row... this will be awesome.
So... I need to walk slowly through this as the author is in no hurry to finish. Whew!! I can do this. That is one reason I don't normally do a WIP unless it is complete. Thanks for giving us the link.
I am waiting to learn why Elizabeth was running before she collided with him...she was away at school for several years. So why is she now home when this happens.
Well... I have read to the 14th chapter. That is as far as the author has gotten. 1st: for those who wish to read this... it has a MA [mature audience] rating. There are explicit scenes of the marriage bed of a married couple. For those who love this... woohoo!
2nd: Sheila, could she be running from Mrs. Bennet? I think that because she was right behind her bursting through the door... like she was following Lizzy. I imagine they had an altercation in the ballroom and Lizzy was trying to escape.
3rd: there are several trigger warnings and the author was very careful to alert potential scenes that might be disturbing to a reader.
4th: Collins was a pig... just saying. We see his actions and reactions to the females around him. Wait... I didn't mean... well... he was a scum-bag... em... just saying.
This D&E had not met before and so he knows nothing about Lizzy. So... he is constantly putting his foot in his mouth as he totally misunderstands her, underestimates her and so completely has no idea of the diamond of the first water that he has in his possession. Man... what a jerk. He really does it up large. I can't wait for the next installment.
Yes, I have found the characters of Mrs. Bennet and Mr. Collins repugnant and Mr. Bennet is not far behind in my estimation as to being not only worthless but also a scar on the face of humanity!!! Collins needs to be castrated!!!! And maybe blinded.
Sheila wrote: "I am waiting to learn why Elizabeth was running..."It was considered very improper for women to run, if my Regency novels are to be believed. Is this a Regency variation that you're reading?
It is a work in progress (WIP) which we are following. Titled Reluctantly Mrs. Darcy. It begins with the wedding ceremony and the two don't even know each other but she was considered compromised and he then offered to marry her.
They didn't marry b/c she was running...but she ran into him and became entangled with him, her bodice tore, etc.
Sheila wrote: "Yes, I have found the characters of Mrs. Bennet and Mr. Collins repugnant and Mr. Bennet is not far behind in my estimation as to being not only worthless but also a scar on the face of humanity!!!..."Re: Collins: And then tie his hands behind his back. That man cannot be trusted within 100 yards of a female. Disgusting piece of trash. And yes... I forgot Mr. Bennet. His only saving grace was sending Lizzy to school. Even if he did it in a high handed way and only to have the quiet with her gone... to shut up his wife. There are a lot of threads starting to dangle regarding certain characters and I'm wondering how our author is going to handle them. We'll see.
Marlene, Darcy was entering the ballroom from the terrace and Elizabeth was bolting out the terrace doors when they collided, her gown was torn and he was on the ground with her. Thus, the compromise. We have not figured out why she was running or bolting... which ever. Since Mrs. Bennet was not far behind her, I figure the witch was giving Lizzy grief for failure to do her duty to the family in marrying Collins or who knows why. The author has not revealed that at this point.
Yeah... well, if Mrs. Bennet was headed in my direction ... I'd run. Elizabeth slammed into Darcy hard enough to send them both to the ground. He's a big guy in this variation. And... later it is pointed out what a tiny, petite thing she is. So bolting with a punch... whichever... she was moving on.
Sheila, I didn't notice your "they didn't marry because she was running" part of your comment. I just meant that it was considered unacceptable to run and that I'd expect a comment or thought from whichever POV is being shown. 😊
J. W. wrote: "Unknown... I have not read where it was revealed... so unknown at this point."Will you please post when she post more chapters. Thank you
You can go in and mark "notify" so you get updates when comments or chapters are posted...that way you can follow and learn when she finishes.
Marlene... running is not as in modern running [arms and legs pumping]. She was gliding, like over ice, at a fast pace. It is commented on several time, by Darcy, as to how quickly she can move or leave a room, especially when they are arguing. Don't let our modern reference throw you. We say run, they say... whatever the Regency Era equivalent is for 'moving the heck away from something disagreeable at a very quick pace'.
