Romeo & Juliet. Tristan & Isolde. Aphrodite & Adonis or Ares. Guinevere & Lancelot. There's something about the forbidden romance motif that draws readers in. What do you love about forbidden romance? What are some of your favorite YA forbidden romance novels?

It is so funny that several of these characters are based on Medieval Romances (which aren't all that romantic) and I just took a class on Medieval literature.
ANYWAY!
I love forbidden romances and the whole trope of the bad boy etc. I think the added conflict brings something even more to the romance.
Currently I am reading Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo and I just love Nina and Matthias.

SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME WE COULD HAVE BUDDY READ!!
I feel like no one ever learns that forbidden love ends in death. Well for those couples I just mentioned above HA!
I think it's all about rooting for love to conquer all which is SO cliche of me to say!! But I agree with you about the conflict making it interesting. In The Lunar Chronicles you see it with Cinder and Kai. I'm blanking on other books I've read already with forbidden romance.
