Kaleena Rheeya (kaleenarheeya) | 34 comments My sister won a promotional copy of Light Shining In The Forest and I won The Method: How To Apply The Law Of Attraction & Get Everything You Want Out Of Life through Goodreads First Reads. Together, we have won 116 books so far. We want to share our love of reading with others so we are looking for new homes for some we have both finished reading. These are the first two books we would like to giveaway!

Please comment on this thread if interested and which book you would like. First person to respond will be given the book(s). After commenting, please message me your address. I would prefer only US addresses at this time though. I have a limited budget so mailing out internationally is a little too expensive at this time.

Also, I will update this post from time to time with other free books too for those that miss out on these two.

Alison G. (agriff22) | 1186 comments The laws of attraction book sounds interesting!!! I'll take them. Thanks Kaleena :)

Kaleena Rheeya (kaleenarheeya) | 34 comments Hi Alison!

I have received your message and will be sending the books to you in a few days time!

Sincerely,
Kaleena

Elsbeth (elsbethgm) | 242 comments What a wonderful idea, Alison! It reminds me of the box with books by the side of the road from which you can just take what you like...

Claire (claire6452) | 718 comments Kaleena, this is SUCH a good idea! I've also won quite a few books here, and it's a shame to just let them sit unused after I read them. I do pass some on to others, but they invariably return them to me when they're done.

I'll have to see what I have that I can give away (some are signed by the author, and I definitely want to keep them), and follow your lead.

Kaleena Rheeya (kaleenarheeya) | 34 comments Sounds like a fantastic idea Claire. I welcome anyone who is interested in posting books they want to give away in this thread. So far I have given away three books total. (The two listed here plus one on miscarriage and adoption that I gave to a woman who had experienced miscarriage and was thinking about adopting.) Most of the books I will be giving away are the "advanced reading copies" or promotional copies that are not able to be resold.

Claire (claire6452) | 718 comments This could be the beginning of a trend! And I think that sharing books by some of these new authors will be helpful to them, too!

The nice thing is that we review the books when we're finished, so anyone who might be interested can see what we thought about them, and decide if they'd like to read them. Almost all of the books I've won have been good; I've gotten a handful that I didn't like too much, and only one true clunker!

Noel (noel-brady) WHOA. How did you win so many books?? Do you enter to win as many as possible? I'm very impressed!

For books you're interested in giving away, you might enjoy bookcrossing.com - you send your book out into the world with a tracking label on it and can see where it gets picked up and where it gets sent off again. Pretty cool :) http://www.bookcrossing.com/howto

Claire (claire6452) | 718 comments Okay, I finally had a chance to go through the books I currently have available.

Doctored Evidence by Michael Biehl A medical mystery, I liked it a lot!
Crystal Ships by Richard G. Sharp A novel about a group of friends experiencing the upheaval of the 1960s, I found it a bit uneven, but I did have a nice exchange of messages with the author after he read my review.
A Crime Unfit To Be Named The Prosecution of John William Campbell by Denele Pitts Campbell A summary of a true crime, it's a bit dry, but if you enjoy crime stories, this one has a lot of details of the trial, and lots of background information on the accused and the victims.
World War I The Best One-Hour History by Robert Freeman For history buffs, this is a great resource on the causes and effects of the Great War
The Doll (Vanessa Michael Munroe, #3) by Taylor Stevens This is a chilling story about kidnapping, the sex slave trade, and an unconventional heroine.
Elegant Solution, An by Paul Robertson A combination of competition and crime among mathematical geniuses; it's a bit of a heavy read, but I enjoyed it.
The Sense of Touch by Ron Parsons A collection of short stories set in the upper Midwest.
Before the Larkspur Blooms (Prairie Hearts, #2) by Caroline Fyffe Second in a series of stories about settlers in the west during the late 1800s, it stands alone even while incorporating characters from the first book. Sweet story, mediocre book.
Infliction by Ryan Poore A man's life basically descends into the depths of hell after his daughter's death after being hit by a truck turns out to have been planned, rather than the accident it was originally thought to be.
The Rise Creativity, the Gift of Failure, and the Search for Mastery by Sarah Lewis A very well-written, scholarly work about how failure can lead to success. NOT a light read!

That's my list for now. If anyone is interested in any of these, send me a message!
