The Spanish Armada by Robert Hutchinson and
Graven with diamonds: the many lives of Thomas Wyatt : courtier, poet, assassin, spy by Nicola Shulman
Anyone else have last-minute nominations to make? I'll probably be closing them, and opening the poll, later today or tomorrow.
I think I will nominate The Pleasure Palace by Kate Emerson, and The Children of Henry VIII by John Guy.And with that I will close the nominations and open a poll.
The poll is now open here: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1... .You can also find it on the bottom of the group's home page.
Currently we have a tie at the top, between My Lady Jane and Falling Pomegranate Seeds: The Duty of Daughters.
Smile - crossing fingers that Falling Pomegranate Seeds gets picked for the group read in February! FYI - I have just posted this about the inspiration behind my novel at goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I am so excited for this one. However, I may not get to discuss it next month because I'm trying to focus on my class, and this would cause extra stress.
@Susanna: Have we read
,
,
, and
by Laurien Gardner as a group? Also, have we read
,
, and
by Sandra Byrd?
I've noticed that there seem to be so many novels about Anne Boleyn. Has anyone realized the same thing?
There's a complete list of what we've had as group reads on a shelf in the Bookshelf (link at the top right of this page) - "group-reads."I don't think we've read any of those, Natalie.
Yes, there are a lot of novels about Anne Boleyn!
@Susanna: It is nice to have a lot of options. It looks like there are enough books we haven't read to come everyone's nominations for the rest of this year and maybe into next year.

If it's in a series, can it be easily read as a stand-alone? If not, you might want to nominate the first book in the series, or the most recent book in it the group has not read together.
Can't remember what we've already read as a group? (Sometimes I can't, either.) There's a "group-reads" shelf on the group's Bookshelf.
Two nominations to a person, please.
