I'm in Indonesia with The Ten Thousand Things by Maria Dermoût. It's my first visit, albeit virtual, and I'm enjoying it greatly.

Shomeret | 520 comments I'm in alternate England in which Nazi Germany is occupying Britain in The British Lion by Tony Schumacher. It's the sequel to The Darkest Hour which I haven't read, but I won The British Lion from Goodreads. So far I think it's standing on its own pretty well and the characterization is excellent.

Jenny, has the TV series been broadcast where you live? Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. I haven't read any of the books, but I did enjoy the first series or two on TV. The costumes alone were worth the time spent watching it.

I'm also immersed in The Goldfinch. It's taking me a while to get through it, but I don't mind because I'm enjoying it so much. I'm not sure why I waited so long to get to it.

Very good so far. The timeline moves forward and each section focuses on a different character within the same circle, so there are different topics that arise.
