Hello everyone !I am new on this website and also new on the Uno challenge but looking forward to participate and hopefully win :P
I love to read novels, mystery and crime, and historical fiction. Recent books I love were Pretty Girls and The nightingale.
What I am not a big fan are too much romance books (nicholas sparks is fine, danielle steel is too much) as well as young adults books that I would prefer to stay away from.
This is my bookshelves of books I could start right away since I do have them : https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
And this is the bookshelves of the one that I would like to read as well. https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
Looking forward to start on this challenge and meeting my teammates !
-Hi everyone! My name is Sarah and I live in Maryland. -This is my second time doing the Uno Challenge. I loved my team last year (hi guys!). Sadly, I couldn't finish the challenge as life and work got in the way (so sorry!). I am also doing the color-challenge and genre-bingo challenge.
-I always thought I had a favorite genre, but since joining Goodreads and the challenges, I have found myself expanding my reading selection. I recently read Cinder, which I don't think I ever would have picked up in the past.
-Pretty much anything on my list I am excited about, lol. I also like seeing what former/new friends and teammates have read. I like the inspiration.
Sarah I so agree. I was such a mystery fan but since becoming a member here it's been genre mayhem. LOL
Hi Everyone! My name is Melissa and I've been on a few challenges before. I've co-captained a couple of them and would love to be a co-captain for Uno if I am picked! :)
I played Uno last year and it was so much fun! I love challenges because it helps me to read outside of my comfort zone and pick books that I may never have thought of reading before.
Some of my favorite genres are YA, Fantasy, Paranormal, Historical Fiction.
I cannot wait to read King's Cage this year!

Hi! FYI we came second last year...by 5 points :(
OMG, that was crazy last year. But we maxed out our points each month so literally luck of the draw plays a part with this one.And hello Dr Who-ers, none of whom ever watched the show. LOL
Luck of the draw absolutely plays a part. My team came in 5th, and we completed every hand and every mini challenge.I loved the mini challenges! They were fun surprises! I can't wait to see what the Uno Pixie has in store for us this year. Maybe a Valentine or St. Patrick mini challenge? A snow or spring fling mini challenge?

I forgot the mini challenges - yep they were SO much fun!
Eldarwen wrote: "Laura that second one has a beautiful cover!"Sure does Eldarwen and it was a great read! It's available today! I highly recommend!
Laura wrote: "I loved the mini challenges! They were fun surprises!"I just went to the archives to see what you guys are talking about - those look so fun! I'm so looking forward to seeing what the mods come up with :)
Anna wrote: "Question have they put us in tacky? Where can I go to make sure that they got me entry form..."Hi Anna,
Teams haven't been put together yet. We will announce them about a week before the challenge. We do have your sign up :)
Hey guys :) my name is Christina, I'm from Austria and I already was part of the UNO challenge last year. I'd read pretty much anything, but I really can't wait to read Lauren Graham's Talking As Fast As I Can for the challenge :)
Anna wrote: "We're supposed to pick out books to read for the challenge?"Not yet. You will be given cards later in the month and then you can pick out books to read. So far we're only discussing which books we can't wait to read this year and some of our favourites.

Where is Austria
It's basically in the middle of continental Europe and borders to Germany, Italy and Schwitzerland to name a few.
Hi all, this is the 3rd year I have done. Cannot wait for this to start. My name is Emma and I am from Scotland. I am trying my best not to look at new books coming out as I have so many to read already.
I read just about anything but my favourite things to read are fantasy and YA. Hate romance though.
Sarah wrote: "Oh no!!!!!!!! I feel terrible! I am in my second year of my job, so I am hoping to have my life under control, lol. "Judith is right! We maxed out every month on points so even with you we still would have come second!
I still haven't watched Dr Who :)
Anna wrote: "Has anyone read cres"I've read it! I liked it but my favourite was Cinder. I haven't read Winter yet - I've owned it for ages so hopefully I'll get to it soon.

Ah, that makes me feel slightly better (ish).
And I have yet to watch Dr. Who either, lol.
Sorry that is not at all hours for an ass Siri's not serial other I don't really like grape nuts I like Cheerios as far as series I love The O'Malley series by DeeHenderson but haven't read that in a while
Whovians unite! I tried to scan through the posts here to see where the Dr Who discussion began but all I could find where people who have YET to watch it. (get on that! lol)Oh & hi to the rest of y'all!
Kirsten from Nova Scotia, Canada here. Love the traditional game of UNO but have never played the goodreads version. So interested to see what I'm in for.
Oh & I like Frosted Mini Wheats. ;)
Angie ☯ wrote: "I heard the call for Whovians..... LOL"Excellent! :) That was faster than the bat-signal or the dark mark!
Yep stupid voice recorder, one time actually told someone at that I love them your dad never met them before and we don't know you did but hey respond with everyone right
Oh wow, ahahaha. @Anna, it seemed the sort of thing pne asks when they're hungry, but instead of eating, just checking goodreads. :)I don't eat cereal and I have no idea what my favorite series is (so indecisive), but I'm currently getting worked up in preparation for this years first Patricia Briggs book. It's still months away, but I'm very ready!
I want to read the latest book in the to all the boys I've looked before I think it comes out this year
Hey all! My name is Diane and I love all types of team challenges. I have never done this one before and it looks like a blast! I am an avid "collector" of Kindle books and now I have way too many (as if that's a thing lol). I do have a lot so I'm trying to use challenges to help me get through my TBR list. For some reason, when I'm doing something like a challenge, it gives me more incentive to get a book read. I used to not need incentive, but thanks to the internet and various games *cough* Candy Crush *cough*, I have gotten off track and I'm doing my best to get back on the reading train. (Sheldon Cooper reference for the win!) I mostly love to read the horror genre, but I would really like to expand my reading so if anyone has a book recommendation of any kind, please tell me! I look forward to learning new things, getting to know all of you and, most importantly, reading more books!
Annika wrote: "It's basically in the middle of continental Europe and borders to Germany, Italy and Schwitzerland to name a few."Austria rates in the top countries I've ever visited! We stayed in Melk and fell in love with the area. So beautiful and the food was delicious. We rode our bikes into Vienna and loved the big city too. So cycle friendly!

Hi Kirsten! We're coming to your part of the world in July for vacation. We've been wanting to see Nova Scotia for a long time, so we're really excited. Looks like there is so much to see and do. We love cycling, hiking and golf and it looks like there's plenty of that in the area and on PEI.
