Thank you so much for that sweet offer Andrea! There isn't anything, but I am grateful that you asked. Its been a huge year of adapting and finding out who my real friends are and who our real family is [my step-siblings basically abandoned my mom once my dad passed and it has made her grief twice as bad]. We are doing better and hopefully will be on the upswing soon.
It would be so lovely if a group of us could get together; to meet all of you would be such joy indeed!!

*** In regards to "The Seed Woman" [I took it out of my books all-together so there is no review], I stopped at 27% and then read the last 4 chapters of the book. I found the book to be dull which was weird because the subject matter was truly amazing. The characters were idiots and simpering and I just didn't care about any of them; they were driving me crazy! I kept finding reasons to NOT read/listen to this book [I DO NOT recommend this narrator - MEH] and finally, today, at 27% I decided I had had enough and quit. I hate quitting books. But I just had to. ***

I have the hardcover copy somewhere in storage - I bought it in Toronto when I lived there because there was so much hype around it and then all the crap happened and it got packed and I never got to read it. I think you would really like it. It was, for me, an amazing read.

*** I initially started this several years ago - it was given to me by someone in the church I was attending and then when it came out that that person wasn't who she appeared to be, I put it away. Last year I decided to dig it back out and start again. Then my Dad died and my health took a nosedive and I was only able to get partly though it; I was just not in the frame of mind to finish this. Enter 2017 and being a little bit of a better year, I felt convicted to finish this finally. It was a really good feeling to answer the last question and reflect on all that I have learned from this. WHEW! :-)

It is SOOOOOOO weird. I think if I read it in HS I wouldn't have retained much either. WOW.
I do like the audiobook I am listening to [its on Hoopla]; the narrator is really good. I think if I was just reading this I would be going nutso right about now. LOL

Yes. I love Hoopla for that. Almost ALL of my audiobooks this year have come from there. SO amazing. You are linked to Hoopla through OverDrive and your library. I am blessed to have a Carnegie Library card and WOW has that opened up my reading world.
There are books and movies on Hoopla too, but I don't like reading/watching on my phone, so until I get an iPad, I just use the audiobooks.

So if I have Overdrive already I don't need Hoopla?

Hoopla is linked through OverDrive. And you don't have to wait for certain audiobooks etc. Go to apps on your phone and look up Hoopla. I think they will ask you for your library card number, but I am not sure. I have old lady brain today and cannot remember how we did it.
I like it because it has a ton of audiobooks that I don't have to wait for or buy.
