Dawn Michelle | 3492 comments HOLY SMOKES!!! I got 5 loans from OD/Carnegie Library at once so I am now officially overwhelmed. As I have waited some time for a couple of these, I need to read them now. And doing an audiobook with a friend. Its fun, but BOY-HOWDY I do not have time for games or FB or anything. LOL

Dawn Michelle | 3492 comments I like to listen to audiobooks while I am playing games on my computer [makes me feel like I am not totally wasting my time] and Audible has a Masters of Fiction channel that is perfect for that; a bunch of short stories that all flow into one another. I only listened to two today as I was unfamiliar with the other ones. I am really glad that I got over my [all-in-my-head] weirdness about audiobooks; I totally love them now.

Misty | 106 comments Do I see Trixie Beldon!! Omg...when I was young and I would get in trouble that's what my mother would ground me from: Trixie Beldon and Nancy Drew, Lol

message 78: by Dawn Michelle (new)

Dawn Michelle | 3492 comments I LOOOOOOOOOOVED Trixie. Amazingly enough, I never got grounded from my books. Considering how much I read you would have thought that would have been the first thing she would have taken away from me!! LOL
I had a whole set of Trixie Belden books and gave them to my "friends" daughter [on the condition I'd get them back if she didn't want them] and she gave them all to goodwill; including my first edition one that was the very first book of the series I got when I was 10 [and didn't know that I had even GIVEN her]. Sigh.
A very good friend of mine is now [slowly] replacing them for me as a gift. Because she is awesome. And I am grateful.

Find something short and light, or something you've read before that makes you smile/laugh. Jodi Picoult books always do that to me, I can only read 2 in a row before I need something funny. Maybe I'll wait on Stolen and Piece of the World. I don't need heavy right now. lol

message 94: by Dawn Michelle (new)

Dawn Michelle | 3492 comments Piece of the World isn't heavy - it is a beautiful, lyrical book that I loved from page one until the last page. Every single second of that book was glorious for me. I had book hangover from it because it [to me] is the perfect book.

Nothing and Stolen on the other hand are dark and deep and VERY heavy. And really challenge how you think and what you feel and believe. I would steer very clear of both if you are not looking for heavy right now, though I highly recommend Stolen [at a later date of course].

I am reading a cozy [because typically they are light], but this one has a character with Alzheimer' and so not as light as I was hoping.

I am starting "The One" from The Selection series today so that should lighten SOMETHING up. LOL
