This isn't one of Shakespeare's best known plays -- have you ever seen a performance?

It was adapted in 1988 into the film 'Big Business,' starring Lily Tomlin and Bette Midler. I ordered via Netflix DVD, and it just arrived - I hope to watch it soon!

Kevin Kelsey (kevinkelsey) There's an audio performance on Audible:

Not sure how good it is though. I'll probably give it a listen after reading.

Natalie Tyler (doulton) The Broadway musical, "The Boys from Syracuse" is an adaptation by Richard Rogers and Lorenz Hart. I've never seen it but I know the soundtrack a bit. Evidently there's a 1940 film of the musical but I've never seen it.
There have also been a couple of "circus" productions. I wonder if any are on Youtube?

I've tried to track down a copy of the film musical but I haven't yet. Just hoping to rent or stream and not buy :-)

'Big Business' with Bette Midler & Lily Tomlin is loosely based on The Comedy of Errors. I just watched it - had the DVD sent to me via Netflix.

It was pretty funny. It kept the same theme and the general structure as the play, but added a country mouse/city mouse element.

I have the Arkangel CD and can say it's good, if not superb. David Tennant is probably the best actor on the recording, but at the moment I can't recall which part he plays.

Haaze | 10 comments The BBC version from 1983 with Roger Daltrey, Michael Kitchen, Cyril Cusack, Charles Gray, and Nicolas Chagrin.

Six segments. This is the link to the first part.

Teri | 2 comments I was able to find the BBC DVD with Roger Daltrey that Haaze posted about at my local library. I watched it reading along with No Fear Shakespeare since there were no subtitles on the DVD. I recommend it for the visuals - will help make sense of which twin is talking and why everyone is so confused.

I started watching The Comedy of Errors from globeplayer.tv last night. I went with this version: https://globeplayer.tv/videos/the-com...

It's very funny so far. They added a lot of slapstick humor. Watching the performance made the play *waaayyy* funnier than just reading it on the page did.
