Good luck with your challenge Jennifer and happy reading! I haven't read life of pi unfortunately so no good suggestions. I hope you find some really great ones! I love my kindle too, can't imagine not having it :)
Hi Jennifer! I'm from the Seattle area too, and actually just moved into the downtown area. Best of luck with your reading and writing!I moved your topic into the appropriate 2017 personal challenge folder. :)
Hi Jennifer! I loved Life of Pi but haven't read it in years, so these might not be the best or the right kind of adventurous, but I'd still like to help you out! :) I went to see what readers of Life of Pi here liked too and got out:- The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Díaz
- The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga
- Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
I've also thrown Life of Pi into What Should I Read Next (now that's a blast from the past! ;D) and the books I like the sound of that have come out are:
- Q&A by Vikus Swarup
- The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy
- Brick Lane by Monica Ali
- The Electric Michelangelo by Sarah Hall
- The Gathering by Anne Enright
Most of these have at least some spirit of adventure about them I think. :) Hopefully they help! And best of luck with all the reading and your novel!

I received a Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas and I love it! The screen is designed to feel like real paper! I am already reading more because it is so nice to use.
I mostly read fiction. I am currently read The Trial by Kafka. I want to read something more adventurous like the Life of Pi next. Any suggestions!
