I thought for sure this one would be a difficult one! The only books I could think of with "cat" covers were not really something I would look forward to reading (yes, I'm looking at you Lilian Jackson Braun and Erin Hunter!).

But then this fell into my lap! I discovered this little gem (a Dutch children's classic, translated and published in English this year) as I was searching for more audio books narrated by Katherine Kellgren; I would listen to her read practically anything as she has a unique store of voices for characters and has a way of making you feel more while she speaks in varying tones (and I discovered she has an excellent "meow").

I highly recommend The Cat Who Came in Off the Roof if you're looking have a leisurely read (or listen).

Technically the cat is on the back and there's a fox on the front...but The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding (The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding #1) by Alexandra Bracken by Alexandra Bracken has to be mentioned! It has a lot of the same vibes as Hocus Pocus complete with a snarky (but lovable) bad guy and a sassy main character. The cat-thing is a side character, but also really cute! I recommend this for anyone who needs that extra push into Halloween. ^_^
