oh! thought perhaps movie would have toned the violence. imagining it was so hard but once you do, it was equally hard to erase it from your mind. :(

why people do this to kids? :/ and if it's in books then it must be happening/happened somewhere...

yes it must have happened... and might still be happening in this weird world. Gives me creeps.

Mystic River I couldn't enjoy the movie. Though its considered a masterpiece.... And picking the book over the movie is a good decision any day (with rare exceptions)

Only Lahane I read was Shutter Island... and that too was after watching the film, so the climax couldn't be that punch in the face!

yeah, me too feel creepy. have you read girl with dragon tattoo? that's another book that gave me creeps.

Have seen the mystic river movie but luckily I don't remember much and Kru has assured me that book is way better than the movie. ;)

haven't seen shutter island. while reading the book I felt like i was sliding through a long and dark tunnel with so many turns.

Dragon tattoo.... not read and thankfully not seen the movie :) So will pick the book first whenever that happens.

For shutter island, I found the film equally good (or better) than book. I might be biased bcoz of Leo.

I read the book after watching the movie. like yesterday I saw movie and today I was reading the book. both end differently so you can always watch the movie after reading the book. :)

Ive read and watch Shutter I. No to both formats of the Steig Larssen...if everyone is on board something I will usually back off...I make a point of being unfashionable ;-) or rather (extremely) fashionably late...Stormlight...Potter...started the series after Book 4 was out and Thanks Be Or I'd hv lost my sanity whichnone could argue...is already hanging by a slim thred....
