I was thinking of reading About a Boy or Bridget Jones Diary from your shelf. Have you gone through mine?
A LOT of your books are in my tbr. But I happen to own a copy of Three Men in a Boat, so I'm leaning towards it. Thought I would start new year with a real book instead of an e-copy. Do you have any other suggestions? I'd probably be copycatting many of your books in the near future :)

Do you have an..."That is one book I loved. It is hilarious.Actually I started it on audio while having my morning walks but was laughing out so loud I just had to shift to reading it. All the best for it.
And a lot of yours are on my list too. Wanted to try some genre I am uncomfortable with but my platter is full for this month so will read either of those mentioned above whichever I manage to lay my hands on. You have read quite a storm..
Have you started on the three men Priya? I got a copy of Bridget Jones so I will be starting that most probably next week.
There was a free period today at college, so I pulled out 3 men and started reading. Within 2 minutes, people were concerned for my sanity. Absolutely hilarious! I'm just 2 chapters in, but I'll be speeding up. Wonderful book to start new year with :D
As for Bridget Jones, I read it a while ago and have forgotten much of it. I do remember how I felt about it. I, um, did not find the main character much to my liking. But I guess it's funny. I'll be waiting to hear what you think of it!

It is still a little fresh in my mind otherwise would have reread it with you. And I failed to get a copy of About A boy so zeroed on Bridget Jones. Sometimes I do fall for silly books and silly characters so let's see.
I'm on chapter 9. The laughs are as profuse as ever. The part about the German COMIC song! XD Came across the term "scold's bridle" in last chapter. Didn't know what it was and had to google it. Can't believe such a thing could've existed!

She is, isn't she? I usually like books with a diary format, because of the insight we get into the deepest thoughts of a character. But Bridget must be the shallowest character ever to write a diary.
I am almost done with TMIAB. I know, it's outrageous that I took this long, but I was distracted by other books and activities. And I am a bit sad that it's going to end.p.s: About scold's bridle, our men find it as an exhibit at one of the places they land.
Are you planning to read the sequel? Haven't read it but heard that it is good. . Am about 20% into Bridget. Will finish it off anyway. Lol at your comment on the shallowest person to write a diary. I too love books in diary form and letters. Have you read The Guernsey literary potato pie society or Daddy long legs?
I finished! 5 well deserved stars for this one for making me laugh at every page. Going by the reviews on GR, the sequel does not live up to the original. But I'll give it a try anyway to see for myself. And I have read Daddy long legs! It was a really cute, feel-good read. The other one, I haven't read, but any book with "the potato pie society" in its title is bound to be interesting :)
I can't say I'm sorry to hear it ( in fact i'm quite in glee) Now we can abuse it together! Do u know that the inspiration for this book was Pride and Prejudice? I didn't believe it at first but if u look closely they have the SAME PLOTLINES!! And the hero is named DARCY!!! What a shame, Austen, what a shame.
