I don't get why Newt and Tina even had to become a couple. It was forced and not what the story needed. It was completely irrelevant. Through the book and the movie I didn't feel like there was anything between them. It seemed to me like Rowling put them together just because she felt like it HAD to be, even though it didn't. I felt like the romance between Queeny and Jacob was enough for the whole story.

I agree with everything said so far! One of my main faults with the story was the lack of chemistry I felt between Newt and Tina. I felt there was no growth of feelings between them at all. I am not against their relationship, I just hope it is more fleshed out in the future. Also, I loved Jacob and Queenie so much I was not that upset about the lack of romance from the main two.
I couldn't agree more with you guys. I personally think that Newt shouldn't end up with Tina as a couple. They just met for a very short time. Tina was suspecting Newt as a bad guy, she surrendered him to MACUSA so she can got her job back. She's being selfish. She didn't know Newt but had a negative thoughts about him, put him in a danger. There's no reason to fell for somebody who did that to him.
