Julie Dawn Cole was 12 years old when she was chosen to play Veruca Salt in the wonderful "Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". She was the youngest of 2 girls being raised by a single mother in a small English town. Although money was tight, Julie was able to attend a private school for children interested in the performing arts. Veruca proved to be her big break and it led to many years of steady work on the stage, television and screen.

This memoir is pleasant with lots of inside information on the filming of the movie and many, many photographs.

Oh, my gosh, I had no idea she was the actress who played Rowella in the first Poldark pbs series in the 1970s. Such a wonderful character to loathe; she did an excellent job in Poldark.
