I have 'finished' a 100k word thriller set in near future India. I'm happy with the middle part of the m/s (and almost happy with the ending!) but am struggling with the all important first 50 pages. So far readers have enjoyed the plotting, the pacing and many of the characters but have struggled to engage with the troubled (and all important!) central character. I'm now into my 7th draft and am still struggling to get it right. So I'd love to be able to send you the first few chapters (about 50 pages) to see if I'm going in the right direction.
In return I would be fascinated to see how you have begun your own thriller novel.
Below is a brief synopsis:
The Other God is about a British woman, Letha Sparks, who travels to India to find her father who she believes has been wrongly accused of murdering her own mother twenty years ago. The Indian secret service however believe he is involved in a devastating plot to attack the 30 million pilgrims bathing at the Kumbh Mela. As Letha finds out more about her father she realises that she will be forced to choose between him and the forces that are out to stop him.
