92. Kalkatta - ★★★½☆ (with Smi)
93. The Adventures of Rusty : Collected Stories - ★★★★☆
Both of these from physical shelf. Kalkatta was grim, Rusty has always been a comfort read.
Started : Burial at Sea
Will be continuing Transmetropolitan, Vol. 1: Back on the Street. Looks good so far at 50% and I might continue with the whole series. But that's what I also said for Monster manga series.
Also continuing The Gene: An Intimate History, taking it slow with Rebecca. This is the most cherished reads of this month so far.
Have plans to include a Hindi book in the current reads. Not sure which. Wife is reading one, will pick it if she says its good.
Wife's journal:
Bombay Rains, Bombay Girls - 2.5
On asking how's it going while she was reading it, she always gave the same response - "Life in a medical college... yeah okayish :\"
Currently reading : Ek Plate Sailab

94. Burial at Sea - ★★½☆☆
The monkey is off my back!
95. The Lifecycle of Software Objects - ★★★★½
Got introduced to this author by one of Manu's reco - The Merchant and the Alchemist's Gate. Liked it and found other titles interesting. Hence tried this one. And am so very impressed, will try out everything by Ted Chiang!
96. Transmetropolitan, Vol. 1: Back on the Street - ★★★★★ (Jaya reco)
Like I've told umpteen times before, graphic novels choices of Jaya rocks. This was full on entertainment! One of the best I've seen so far.
97. Levels of Life - ★★★☆☆ (Girish reco)
Another reco I enjoyed immensely! The third part (last 50%) of this book is a must read and could be read independently.
This was my second Barnes after pedant, both recod by Girish.

Current and upcoming:
Gene - Long term project. Slowly sipping and enjoying with Rebecca.
Whatever you do don't run - African safari. At 45%. Time pass comic non fiction. Not very impressed.
Raag Darbari - The Hindi book I was craving for. Sahitya Akademi winner. Bed time reading only.
Transmetropolitan series - Graphic novel. Whenever I need a mood lift... by watching a crazy character behaving randomly insulting everyone around him.
Picador Book of Cricket - Was supposed to pick "Corners of a foriegn field" by Guha as the cricket book I wanted to read before reading India After Gandhi. Somehow this appealed to me more and so started with it.
Upcoming:
A BR with Smi - Please pick a book for us Smi :)

Thank you everyone.
@Girish - I know its a typo :P But can't be too sure judging by the quality of your read shelf.
@Tarinee @Manu - With all the boasting and show off done, yes I need to be a good finisher if I have to reach the intended target... else... (view spoiler)
@Arpit @Syl @Jaya @Rebecca - You all have been excellent buddies. More than 50% of my reads this year comprise of BRs. Cheers to our BRs!
@dely - Thank you for the interesting discussions over the books we don't read in common :)

Haha.. Sorry about the AC typo.. You can be absolutely sure it is without doubt - 'Without Compromising quality'!!!

101. Ready Player One - ★★★★☆
Ongoing since June. Exceptionally enjoyed this. Sci fi and virtual world are always a high for me.
102. An Equal Music - ★★★☆☆ (BR with Smi)
Had been eyeing this for so long. Was a great comfort read. Will be reading his Golden Gate next.
103. Whatever You Do, Don't Run : True Tales of a Botswana Safari Guide - ★★★☆☆ (ArpitJo's reco)
Non-fiction; Africa; Another funny comfortable read. In fact, the love for reading about Wildlife is slowly growing this year. It all started with a superb weekend reco - To The Elephant Graveyard
104. Café Latte: Eighteen Unusual Stort Stories - ★★★★☆
A good contemporary piece of writing. Not many flavours in these stories as the themes were related, but still enjoyed reading most of the stories from this collection.
105. Hawa Mein Hastakshar - ★★½☆☆
Didn't feel like reading poetry. May be my perception of "poetry" needs to be re-calibrated.

Completed before 15th Sept:
106. Lava - ★★★★☆ (Poetry theme by Aka)
107. Monsoon Minds - ★★★★☆ (giveaway)
108. Best-Loved Indian Stories of the Century, Vol. 1 - ★★★★★
Indulged in only poetry and short stories for a week. And loved the non continuous bursts of reading without a major context. Poetry has in fact become a habit :)
Last couple of weeks:
109. Tughlaq A Play In Thirteen Scenes - ★★★★☆+ (with Sri)
110. Sita: An Illustrated Retelling of the Ramayana - ★★★★☆ (IR BOTM)
The past couple of weeks have been the slowest this year. Mostly due to fluctuations in heavy office work, and bad health to add to the reading slump.
Happy to have my first BR with Sri :) and many more to come...
Manu, if you're listening, you're on my radar for a BR!
After reading Jaya in 2014, I was sure to read Sita, but wanted to give it a gap. Didn't expect the gap to be this long though.

Wife's journal:
Ek Plate Sailab - 3 stars. Loved a couple of stories very much. Rest of them passable.
Chokher Bali - 2 stars. And she recommended it to me saying - "its your kind of book" :P - Entangled characters, intense conversations, slow art kind of setting.
She is currently reading If It Is Sweet

And with this I mark the end of the reading adventures for 2017. Will still continue to finish the current reading shelf... and may pick non contextual small stuff - poetry and short stories as and when time permits.
This has been the best reading year of my life comprising a shelf I'll cherish and feel proud about :)
With genuine hopes to be back here next month rather than next year ;)
Good bye 2017 :)

Hopefully this is a very short break given you have 3 months more to go in 2017. Get back soon and congratulations on the fabulous and totally enviable year so far..
Thanks Girish :)
Dely, I have to stop due to lack of leisure time. Traveling to hometown for a month's break. Then shifting to a new house by the end of year.
Won't be able to read as regularly as I used to...
So decided to take a complete break [with some cheating ;)], increase the hunger for books and come back stronger in 2018 :)

An Equal Music was prescribed to a classmate (prescribed like a doctor's prescription). When he finished the book he called me late at night crying that I must read it. I was sceptical at first because I don't read romances but I gave it a try and it has to be the only (or one of a few) romances I liked. In fact, I loved it.
Also, after I finished reading, I called my classmate (in tears) and said F-You! for making me cry this bad.
If you like Manto, do read Chughtai.
