She is GR author "Janet^Fox" https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

but this is also her book with author "Janet S. Fox" https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

Proof that this is her book. https://www.goodreads.com/author/show... Website/My Books

Whenever I try to add Janet^Fox to the Organizing book, it ignores me.

The system won't allow you to directly add a second author if it's too similar to the first one. So the workaround is to add a fake temporary name (I'm partial to temptemp, but anything you are sure doesn't already have an existing author profile should work) to each book you want the second author on. Then merge the fake name with the desired name.

Ok thx. I'd have to post in the Super 's after because it's a GR author.

Then make the OTHER name the one that uses the workaround.

Ayshe | 3084 comments I moved up the non-GR name profile as primary author as that is what covers have.

Ayshe | 3084 comments btw, I guess there's no harm done in having both as authors, but I think I once read librarian post that we generally don't do this kind of linking unless the author requests it.

Ok. I figured it was okay because she acknowledged it on her website but ill avoid in the future.
Thanks for moving name up, that makes sense.

If the author lists it on their website as a book they authored, it's fine. In this case, she also has it listed in her Goodreads bio.
