Sara Dahmen | 8 comments If it's possible, I'd love to have my new novel, Wine & Children, added/attached to my author page (as well as the book cover, which can be pulled from the Amazon link below) Thank you very much!

Her travels lead her to meet Sam, a budding garagiste wine maker and a divorcee himself. Neither of them have any illusions about what it takes to make a relationship work, and romance is complicated by Sam's pre-teen sons. Issues surface, from ex-spouses, children and medical emergencies. Underlying everything is the battle of Charlie's insecurities that stem from her irrevocable infertility. Sandra | 31627 comments Sara, why would you ask for this book to be added when you had already added it?

I've added the cover. I've also added the kindle edition which I suppose is what you wanted.

Sara Dahmen | 8 comments Hi Sandra,

I totally am not good at Goodreads yet (this is obviously apparent!) and after I'd added it to my author site, I thought I was supposed to have a Librarian add a cover (somewhere it said that was the case) and that I was also supposed to submit all that information when asking for a new book (which I hadn't thought was done properly on my author page). I'll get this figured out yet - I'm so sorry to be annoying, truly. And I hugely appreciate your help. It's got to be frustrating to deal with people like me, who are still learning the ropes and creating more work. Thanks a million and a half!!!

Sandra | 31627 comments LOL. I sometimes come across as an angry librarian (I hope I'm not really) but I forget that everyone doesn't know what they're doing here.

As far as I know if you create the book you have a short window (don't quote me but I think its a day) to add the cover. The asking a librarian to add the cover is basically for books that have been sitting around without a cover for some time, or someone who doesn't know how to add a cover.

But as you're new it might be better to just give the librarians all the info and we can set them up for you. Once you know what we actually require you can have a go yourself.

I did add a bit more info than you did and I'm not saying you're wrong, just that the list you're given isn't everything that a librarian would add normally.

Sara Dahmen | 8 comments Hahaha, no, no you're totally fine. I just feel awful for creating more work for you all! Thank you for the help, seriously. It's immensely appreciated.

That's great to know about adding a cover right away, if that's the case, but seeing how I feel completely like I'm on a different planet right now as I try to build up Goodreads, I'll totally take you up on this and get new info to the librarians. You rock, awesomely.
(Funny, I can totally work machines from the 1700 and 1800's to make copper cookware, but get me by computer programs, and I freeze...and I'm a freaking millennial! (on the old side, but still...))

Many, many thanks!!! :)

Sara Dahmen | 8 comments Oooo...I should friend you. That's what we're supposed to do, right? Is that allowed if you're a librarian?

Librarians are allowed to send friend invitations to any other Goodreads members, the same as non-librarians. So are authors.

This request has been completed, so I am closing this thread.
