I'm Ellen and Storm but I can't set the new cover as default, possibly due to the double author entry.

Librarians can't set the default. Please contact support (at) goodreads (dot) com.

All editions need the same primary author. You should now be able to set the default from the Ellen Whyte profile.
If there are still problems, you should send a message to the staff as librarians can't set the default edition.
