Dna What did you all think of William by the end of the story?

Pynkbyrd I did not like him any better because he had tried to turn his life around by working in a food kitchen and helping people there. I did not like him from the beginning and for me, he just got worse and worse. I just about cheered when Lucy had the gun, thinking I'd heard the last of him.

Dna LOL Eve, you're so funny! I like your point of view though. He wasn't a character you could really cheer for and that made the book a tad less enjoyable for me. I love rotten characters and unreliable narrators, but with Caroline Leavitt's stories, you *want* a hero, you want to cheer people on. Is it just me? I like her books a lot and will keep reading her.

Pynkbyrd It depends on the book. If you read "Seven Days of Us" by Francesca Hornak, you start off thinking how horrible every character is. Then it comes to light why each person seems to be so horrible, but perhaps they aren't, really --or are they? It is a funny book, too. I like rotten characters who are redeemable in some way, or you can excuse them for some reason, not serial killers, though. I also do not mind an unhappy ending, as long as it is a good one. I don't need unicorns and rainbows if there is no reason for them. Caroline Leavitt will always get read by me, there is just something about the way she writes, but thankfully there are a whole slew of new authors to keep me happy between books!
