Lots of mistakes were made in handling Otis. Was it plausible that they would have released his leg shackles? Were you suspicious of him at any time?

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I was suspicious when he wouldn't give the FBI the information on the dumping ground unless they took him along. I figured he was somehow in communication with the killer.

I was surprised from the onset at how accommodating they were to his requests. When Maggie agreed to switch cars, I knew this was a deadly trip. His precise knowledge of that remote site should have set off alarms. Why they took off his leg shackles was a mystery to me. I can't believe this would have happened in real life.

Ditto!

I kept thinking of a similar scene in another serial killer book that I read recently - (view spoiler)
