Gwen Patterson is requested to participate on the task force and is volunteered to interview Otis Poole. Were you surprised at her emotional reactions or were they consistent with having had those two past traumatic experiences?

[Robin]

It made sense to me that she would be very wary and not want to rush into the prison to interview Otis Poole.

[Jonetta]

I thought she should be wary, too, but she was almost paralyzed with fear even when she went to Quantico. I was sort of surprised at how debilitated she was throughout the story.

[Lauren]

Given her past experiences, Gwen's reactions made sense to me.

That said, this is not an issue that has been developed in the books, so Gwen's extreme fear sort of comes out of the blue.
