Bullet in the Brain by Tobias Wolff - 4 stars

A very short story about a book critic named Anders who is shot in the head during a bank robbery and his less critical life leading up to the robbery that flashes before the reader's eyes (but not Anders because he's dead) in which he is humanized. It's an interesting story, although even after his being humanized post shooting I'm still not that upset about him catching a bullet in the brain.
