I'm sorry, I see nothing on his page. Do you mind providing links to the books?P.S. Combined C.S. Friedman and C. S. Friedman
okay that's weird; the posting interface asked me to pick the book, but doesn't show it here. The ones I think are wrong:
Išaukštinimo karas: Pirma knyga - 998636017X
Išaukštinimo karas: Antra knyga - 9986360196
The source of the cover images:
The Madness Season: 0886774446
Also, translating the titles didn't really help me ;)
No, this is D. Brin's books. It will be a book in the uplift war that is divided in two parts (common with translated science fiction). Will try to find which one is it and move to the proper series.Edit: The uplift war is the book, so this is the uplift war part 1 of 2 (Pirma) and part 2 of 2 (Antra)
Edit 2: Added to main series, deleted the Išaukštinimo karas series
Edit 3: I think they just used the main image from the other books. The record should reflect the title and author.
P.S. Working on the uplift series.
Fixed as much as I could.
The issue remains - those cover images are clearly lifted from the "The Madness Season" by C.S. Friedman. Is that a goodreads problem, or did the publisher release the books with those covers? (Again, the Internet is unhelpful here, at least for me...)
Thanks for your patience!

This appears to be the case.

Harald, I'm guessing that someone recycled cover art when releasing those books. Most book covers don't get commissioned, unique cover art. Usually there are stock photos (or even stock drawings) that the publisher pays a royalty to use, and then they dress it up differently for the individual book. I see it a TON in photographed cover images, but I admit, it's a lot rarer to see it in illustrated cover art. Regardless, David Brin's publisher was going to cut corners with stock art, I'm not surprised they did it on a translated edition for a small target audience.

This book, and the other one in the same series, have covers that are clearly the cover of "The Madness Season" by C.S. Friedman (the two separate images are the front and back cover of the book).
Something's wrong, but as I don't read Lithuanian, I can't tell if the wrong author is listed, or if the cover images were mis-appropriated...
