TBR Challenge

Duration: 1 Month

We all have a to read list. Some people have list longer than others. We are constantly adding to the list but never actually getting around to reading the list. This challenge is designed to help do just that.

Over the next one month you will pick 12 books (this will equal out to 3 books a week) and read them. Pick your books wisely my friends. Lets see how many of us can complete this challenge.

Oooh. This one would really push me next year to get my tbr to shrink. I'll be doing this.

message 3: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sophiesworld) That's far too many for me in a month. I've picked out a few I want to read and listen to this year. Much of it is health dependent and depends on what else is going on in my life. I will aim to read about 30 books in the year from my to read list anyway. Good luck to anyone taking this challenge. I don't know how people would manage it to be honest!

I would think it's more about the joy of doing it. Lol. Reading is just a hobby and some people can read anywhere! Or listen! <3 I read at work since I work nights and I need to stay up. Or when I'm bored, or waiting, or doing laundry, or just because I want to. Lol. Don't worry though! Sometimes it can be overwhelming! You do what you can when you can, dear. :)

Also, Andrea, question. I kinda know the answer already but just to reconfirm for anyone else who is thinking of the same question. We can use the same book from one challenge for another?

Always Leela. Always. Challenges can have books crossed posted to other challenges.

-sniffles- always!!! T.T lol. Thank you!!

I am with you Leela I work nights 7p-7a so I read sometimes then also to stay awake when we are not busy. So I am going to definitely try and take on this challenge. I have a large TBR pile.

My TBR pile just got bigger. I'll be taking advantage of the times that my son is not at school and I can sleep in later.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

That maybe to many books to read in a month but I do have series that I need to finish up.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

I finally picked out all my books for next month!

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
YaY! I don't know what I'm going to read. I've picked a bunch and I guess I'll just grab from the ones I am thinking I'll read.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah I picked a total of 12 that I hope to finish in January!

message 14: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
I picked like 30 I know I won't read all thirty but I wanted to have plenty of options.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol. So you picked you're whole reading shelf? <3

message 16: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
It's a bunch of first in a series and thankfully most of those are also new to me authors that have just been sitting on my shelf. So since I don't always know what I'm feeling when it comes to reading I just decided to pick a bunch and then when the new year starts I'll have a good idea of the books that I have to choose from.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

I have a bad habit of not wanting to read books that I'm hyped about. I'll spend months fondling it before actually reading it. I need to stop doing that...

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

I have 4 picked out already but that is it. I need to be home to pick out the rest.

I do that my husband hates that I do that. He loves buying me books but hates when I wait for the hype to die down before reading it.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm determined to actually ready the books fast this time.

I am hoping that I will get through some of these fast if I love them. I bought a new book today and it's the 10th anniversary edition of Vampire Academy. Now to read the extra stuff in it.

Sophie (sophiesworld) Ok - I'm not -exactly- doing this challenge but I think I'll aim to read 12 in my tbr list over 12 months instead of 1 month :)

That is fine. Adjust it to your needs.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

I am not doing so hot with this challenge. My goal is just to finish the harry potter series for the month. Including Fantastic beasts and the cursed child.

I am not doing well either but I have been so busy this last week that I would be doing better if I had not been running errands today.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

I actually have been doing good despite being so busy. I think reading at work is actually helping me out. I'll start looking through what I have read and I'll post it here from my challenge board! I think I have 9 books completed...

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

1.) The Culling
2.) Rainbow Boys
3.) Cannibal Killers: Monsters with an Appetite for Murder and a Taste for Human Flesh
4.) The 5th Wave
5.) City of Bones
6.) Of Poseidon
7.) Without Reservations
8.) Clockwork Princess
9.) The Diabolic

Wow! I need to get with the program at the moment and get to reading.

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

You do! Hurry up! Lol.

message 31: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
Geez Leela, I'll hurry. But of course once I get into a book I'll be good. But of course I have three or four books started right now all I need to do is finish them and I'll be up to date.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

We all know that I'm going to hit my usual reading slump and then I'll be in my bed crying about it. Lol.

message 33: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
I do the same. I won't lie. Oh you want to know what helps me out sometimes with a reading slump? Manga. Like Sailor Moon or something. I get a bunch of Manga and I just read it. I turn my brain to mush for a few days and read those. They keep me up in my goal but it's helping me out when I am in a slump.

message 34: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wmaresca) feeling good just added another book this month to my tbr's that I have read. Whoop Whoop

I have a bunch started and if I dedicate time to just reading I should finish a bunch of them to get me all caught back up.
