For this Weeks theme we will be asking that you read...

a book that is a perfect fit for our New Year, New Start. For this one it's pretty easy. There are at least two ways that this one can be done. You can read a new book that you got for Christmas. You can read a new to you author but please have another one ready for next week's theme. You can read the first book in a new series you wish to read. All of these are perfect ways to start the New Year, New Start challenge

Christina (cmb1987) For this week I will be reading Red Hill (Red Hill, #1) by Jamie McGuire . The first in a new series.

I like the cover.

I decided to go with a new to me author for this week. I'm reading Of Poseidon (The Syrena Legacy, #1) by Anna Banks .

Of Poseidon is good. I enjoyed it. It was such a different concept of things.

I am going to go with two books this week. Because I am going to do this week and the author week. So I can cover this with one stone but I'm also going to read the BOTM

A new series and new to me author all in one!

The Crown's Game (The Crown's Game, #1) by Evelyn Skye & Falling Kingdoms (Falling Kingdoms, #1) by Morgan Rhodes

I could get away with reading Falling Kingdoms to cover the Author of the Week, Weekly Theme, and the Dare for the week but I also want to read The Crown's Game as well.

message 6: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wmaresca) Well I will be reading Falling Kingdoms (Falling Kingdoms, #1) by Morgan Rhodes for the Weekly Challenge and Weekly author. I am also going to read The Queen of the Tearling (The Queen of the Tearling, #1) by Erika Johansen so that can cover our Weekly Theme since it is the first in a series and I also have never read anything by this author.

Okay so my book for this kind of changed and I decided to read Carrie Fishers' The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher .

I have to say that I have finished this weekly theme and I am going to hopefully finish the Author one now which will also cover this challenge.

<3 I still haven't continued on for my book. I couldn't figure out if I wanted to read this book before or after Rainbow Boys. I will hopefully read the book I chose for this challenge today...

I started it when we started the Group read for it but some stuff happened and I never picked it back up. Life just became well life. Needless to say just two short months later we lost my husband's grandmother so I never finished The Darkest Minds.

I have this sitting on my bookshelf, I look forward to hearing what you think. I have heard great things about this book

Jacquelyn Simon (jacquelynrose94) | 122 comments Ok! I will definitely update you all. (:

message 17: by Christina (new)

Christina (cmb1987) Finished Red Hill (Red Hill, #1) by Jamie McGuire . This is listed as the first book in a new series by this author. I really enjoyed the book but it ended in a way that makes me think it's not going to be a whole series??? So maybe it doesn't count after all. Will have to go read another one real quick so I don't feel like I cheated. :P

message 18: by Wendy (last edited Jan 06, 2017 10:26PM) (new)

Wendy (wmaresca) I didn't get to The Queen of the Tearling (The Queen of the Tearling, #1) by Erika Johansen but I did read this weeks Author and that goes with both Author and Weekly theme. I am still hoping to finish another book by tonight at midnight, but if not I will use Falling Kingdoms (Falling Kingdoms, #1) by Morgan Rhodes as my weekly theme book. Falling Kingdom actual falls for both theme reads, It is a new to me author and the first book in the series

message 19: by Christina (new)

Christina (cmb1987) Finished The Bad Beginning, which is a new author and a new series for me. Now I don't feel like I may have accidentally cheated. Yay! The book was kind of funny and kind of disturbing and kind or enjoyable and kind of meh. If the books were longer I probably wouldn't bother reading more, but since they are short and sweet I may decide to do so after all.

I didn't finish The Crown's Game but I'll finish it this coming up week. I have three books pulled out a week. Is that horrible. One is just an extra one that I have pulled out but right now I've got The Crown's Game which is our BotM and then Falling Kingdoms which I have to finish tonight lol and then the book my husband drew for me which was Taken at Midnight if I remember correctly. But at least it finishes the both weekly themes.

I think they do get longer eventually the longer the series goes on. I cannot remember.

It'll be okay if you don't. There will be no judging. *silently judging in the corner* I'm kidding about the judging. You know there is no judging.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

No no, I feel the judgement! You're making it a personal challenge to read this book by today! XD

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
I need to finish Falling Kingdoms today. Have I even finished this challenge. I don't remember...*has horrified look that she can't remember if she finished this challenge...*

Lol i am total freak for covers, you would be surprised by how many books i add to my tbr and i know nothing about them just thought the cover was amazing.

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
I buy a ton of cover buys sometimes and it gets me into trouble. If it's shiny it's going to be bought. I cannot pass up a shiny cover.

message 35: by Roxanne (new)

Roxanne | 727 comments Mod
Haha i am good about not buying although occasionally i slip, but i add them which is my too-read shelf is out of control

message 36: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
The good news is after I buy them I'll read the synopsis and it's a book I would totally read.

message 37: by Roxanne (new)

Roxanne | 727 comments Mod
You are better than me. I won't read the synopsis and sometimes the cover won't match what i was thinking. Lol

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
I've been pretty lucky. I mean I have one cover buy that I bought that I didn't enjoy as much as I hoped I would but it was still a good book and I cannot remember for the life of me what it was right now.
