message 151: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments John noticed they had finished working on what he had planned for the day, surprised that they got it done so quickly. Easier with two pairs of hands....

message 152: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver sat back and gave a pleasant sigh. "This was fun."

message 153: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Yeah, I guess it goes faster with more hands."

message 154: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman "Thanks for teaching me."

message 155: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments He beamed at her. "My pleasure."

message 156: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver smiled and stood up. "Anything else ya need help with?"

message 157: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments John looked over the field and scrunched his eyebrows. "I don't know, maybe? If you want to help...."

message 158: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman "Yeah, what?"

message 159: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Do you want to just walk around and check on the other plants? I kind of can't think of anything."

message 160: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman "Sure." Silver said, getting up.

message 161: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments John smiled brightly, standing to move with her, glancing at the plants as he walked.

message 162: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver continued down her row as she checked the plants.

message 163: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments John started whistling something quietly, only pausing when he saw something wrong.

message 164: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver paused and looked back at him. "What is it?"

message 165: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Just a few dead leaves. Probably from a bug or something, they don't usually die this early in the season." He quickly picked them off and shoved them in his pocket. If it wasn't bugs and it was a disease, leaving them in the dirt would do nothing.

message 166: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver nodded and kept going.

message 167: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments Johnathan started walking slowly, checking for anything else.

message 168: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver found a dead leaf every now and then but not many.

message 169: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments Johnathan glanced up at the sky for a second, squinting at the sun. He wondered if they let it rain for the plants, because he had never seen it himself. And yet when he kneeled down to check the plants, they were healthy and watered.

message 170: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver glanced at him but continued to work. Thinking about many things, most of which were sad but she tried to think cheerfully.

message 171: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments Johnathan glanced back at her for a second, but was enjoying the silent company. Talk always ended up involving cruel words you can't take back and him feeling like he just ruined something.

message 172: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman ((That's sad.))

Silver smiled and hummed quietly.

message 173: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments Johnathan glanced at her when she started humming, but he just smiled and kept walking. He liked it when she hummed, it sounded nice. Besides, there was always humming or singing in his house and he kind of missed it. Here it was just a wall of noise if there was any at all.

message 174: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver hummed a nice beat, calming herself.

message 175: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments Johnathan froze for a second when he saw the dirt moving before snorting as an overly fat worm broke the surface. The worm went back into the dirt before the sun dried him up.

message 176: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver stopped humming, suddenly self conscious.

message 177: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Is everything okay? You stopped humming..." John scrunched his eyebrows, paling slightly. Does she think I was laughing at her?

message 178: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman "What? Yeah, yeah." Silver said, fixing her shirt and jacket.

message 179: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments John scrunched his eyebrows again. "Are you sure? You're fiddling."

message 180: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver looked at her hands and pursed her lips. "Thanks a lot." She said as if her hands could listen. "I'm self conscious when I remember to be."

message 181: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments Johnathan could understand that. "You know I quite liked the humming, I won't judge if you wish to continue."

message 182: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver smiled and blushed a little. "I can sing if you wish."

message 183: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments Johnathan smiled. "Okay, of you are comfortable. You know I hear music helps the plants...though that might just be Satyrs...." he blushed too and rubbed the back of his neck.

message 184: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman "Do you have a favorite song?"

message 185: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Um...a lot of what I know is what my sisters listen to. I'm guessing you don't know any French songs." He beamed as a terrible idea came to mind. "How about Disney?"

message 186: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver nodded. "Yeah, I knew Disney."

message 187: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Sing your favorite? Favorite Disney songs are a great way to get to know someone."

message 188: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman "Really?" Silver asked, before thinking. "Crud, I have two." She whispered before starting to sing Bells of Notre Dame.

message 189: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments John smiled as he listened, nearing the end of his row.

message 190: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver stopped at the end of her row and continued to sing.

message 191: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments John started to hum along quietly as he moved on to the next row, even though he had already gone through it. He liked spending time with her, it felt good to have friends.

message 192: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver finished singing. "What's your favorite?"

message 193: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "Bella Notte." John whispered as he flashed back to watching it with his sisters when he was little, his parents curled up in the arm chair. His voice was soft as he sang, just loud enough to hear.

message 194: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver smiled and followed him, wanting to hear him as best as she could. She closed her eyes and listened.

message 195: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "This lovely Bella Notte..." The words washed over his tongue as he pictured Diana and Taya slow dancing in the kitchen while him and Maria sang. She was always laughing through it. John smiled softly as he paused at a plant, for no reason.

message 196: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver smiled and listened.

message 197: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments "On this lovely...Bella Notte."

message 198: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver remained silent.

message 199: by Rashia (new)

Rashia | 237 comments John finished the last note and glanced at her.

message 200: by Eve O. Spellman (new)

Eve O. Spellman Silver applauded. "Very good."
