Paul Mathews (paulmathews) | 12 comments I've manually added my forthcoming 2nd novel 'We Have Lost The Pelicans' to Goodreads (publication date: 28 Dec). For my first novel, 'We Have Lost The President', Goodreads automatically lifted all the data from Amazon after it was published and created an entry for it. My question is - when I publish my 2nd novel to Amazon, will this automatically create a second entry in your system for 'We Have Lost The Pelicans'? If so, is it straightforward to get this merged into one entry?

Also, as both books are in a series, does a separate series page need to be created for them? (It is called the 'We Have Lost' series.)

Thanks for your help.

Arenda | 26455 comments Goodreads imports books from various sources like Amazon. These imports are checked by ASIN or isbn to see if they are already added to GR.
When you have the ASIN, you can add it to the edition you added to GR. Once the ASIN is attached to that edition, there will be no duplicate.
When the edition with ASIN is imported before the ASIN is added to the GR edition, the duplicate edition has to be merged, which is usually easy done.

I've created a series for the books: https://www.goodreads.com/series/1952...

Paul Mathews (paulmathews) | 12 comments That's fantastic. Thank you, Arenda. I'll add the ASIN to my second novel, as soon as it is assigned. Many thanks for your help.
