I hope you keep your power and wrap yourself up in an electric blanket at your writing desk!

Funnily enough, I found out last night that I had enough Delta miles for a one-way ticket to Miami...
...to be continued

That sounds like a hint from the universe ;)

Me? I hate the stuff....
Miami sounds like a darn good idea. Oh. And cocktails!

Marie Silk trivia: years ago, I made a goal to visit 40 countries before my 40th birthday.

Amie, that is my goal! I'm not quite there yet :)

I'm beginning to feel like Father William

Also, I'm super jealous. I only made it to four countries before 40 and two were attached. ;P

You're welcome, Christina, and good luck on your promo! Hey any travel is awesome though :)

I went with the "vertical folded business card" so it would look like a miniature book. I am so so happy with how they turned out and the colors are decently accurate :). The photo is a little fuzzy but in reality, everything printed clean and precise. I ordered these from Vistaprint a couple days after I ordered the bookmarks from Got Print, but apparently the Got Print order didn't ship til yesterday.
I wasn't sure how the cards would look since I didn't pay extra for a glossy coat, but I think they look great like this and still have a bit of shine. I didn't pay extra for shipping either, just did the standard cheap shipping option, yet they arrived within 4 days of my order. The back of the business card is the blurb for my book!

That being said, I did get some temporary tattoos to give away to ppl who bought my book.
I think they are all very pretty though!
I got my business cards from Moo.com or something like that.

And now, in my mind, swag is some sort of weird Muppet booty shake. XD"
Oh wow, I have this vision now. And it's stuck in my brain! *wiggle wiggle SHAKE!*

Maybe I can just send them out in balloons? (edited to clarify: the business cards, not the humans)

Thanks Amie, it's not so easy for me to meet in person. Socially awkward to the max :)

Are you sure? Methinks that idea has merit ^_~
For reals, though, the bizness cards look boss, Miss Marie!!!

Super proud of you, ma'am!! As for tomorrow...
*rolls up sleeves*
Done.

The sequels will remain on sale until Thursday, but today (Jan 22nd) is the only day that book one will be free :)

Just FYI, book 1 is free but the others have not changed in price yet. At least not on the .com site. I'll check .uk too...
EDIT: Still between £2.27 and £2.31 over at .uk *sobs*

Thank you for stalking me, Annie!! The prices have shown at $.99 on .com for me since 1am (I stayed awake to check haha) and 99p on UK. I just doublechecked again because my heart about stopped after reading your post. Still shows 99 cents and 99p. I'm not sure why they show full price for you :( ?????

Miss Christina is probs right about the whole being-a-Canuck thing *sighs* Although I am logged in with my American addy right now. Bah. It's all good, though...
I already bought all your stuff before hahahaha!!
*serious face*
*scampers off to share*

EDIT: That was for Miss Marie. Sorry for typing all up in your space, Miss Ember LOL

Oooh, thanks for the update! I'll check them out!

The free download portion of the promotion went kind of slow-ish, but the countdown went fast and broke my sales record. Below is a screenshot from the sequel on countdown for 99 cents today. This is the best rank that any of my books have seen in the paid store. I'm really stoked that it cracked the top 100 of a major category (YA fiction!!) ♥

Also I noticed that several new 5-star reviews rolled in today, so that was icing on the cake. Hm...cake...
I still have a few days to go on the countdown sales, but the freebie returns to regular price tomorrow. I'm just experimenting at this point so I'm not sure if it's a good move to have the countdown end after only 5 days instead of the full 7 ??? I figured I'd let the books run at regular price for the weekend :).
