Jane Jago - shut up and write

One sunny Saturday
There came a dick driver who sat down beside her
But she groped him and he ran away

disgraceful behavior, Grandma Muffet!

How does your garden grow?
With poppy seeds and ganja weeds
And hookah pipes all in a row

You are old so you shouldn't bedazzle
You should be both faded and frazzled
It shouldn't be you
With a Harley (brand new)
And a Swarovski Crystal vajazzle

haha excellent!

It sounds uncomfortable to me ... but then I did get used to my toe rings, which I now never take off.

That even your knitting is queer
You should knit baby clothes
To warm tiny toes
Not merkins in purple cashmere

Should be timid, and always at home
Wearing slippers and robe
Not trotting the globe
With only a toothbrush and comb

I'm wagging my tail like mad.
There is even a digital seal thingy to prove it. But I've never managed to get an image on Goodreads so...

Yay! Congrats! :)

Should be modest and downcast of face
It is so deeply wrong
That you're wearing a thong
And a peephole in black silk and lace
© jane jago 2017

You should just rise above tell and kiss
But your feed on Twitter
Is funny and bitter
I think you're just taking the piss
© jane jago 2017
ok...Honestly, I am not a fan of poems, but yours are hilarious and might just make me change my mind after all. :P

Of your twinges you ought to complain
But just yesterday
You ran fifteen k
Whatever is wrong with your brain
© jane jago 2017

To run the full fifteen k course
And it makes you feel good
Then of course you should
But I'd need some help from a horse.
:=*)

I've had it out to the betas and gotten diametrically opposed reactions. On one side -meh. On the other -we want a sequel.
The second are outweighing the first. So. My inclination is to just stick it out there and see if it sinks or swims.
What would you do?

It's been several months in the thinking what I might do.about it phase. I can find no plot holes and my proof reader has okayed it. I'm leaning towards sink or swim matey. Sink or effing swim...

Ahem... I know, I already have so many of your books still to read. But this is the way I look at it: If there is one person who likes it, odds are there are others as well. Plus launching books is exciting!

In the meantime a little bit more lunacy
One for the fantasy writers in our midst
Said a skull in a costume monastic
This place is entirely fantastic
I've just had a talk
With an erudite Orc
I'm so pleased that my mind is elastic

I like how you think, Jane. Publishing is like potato chips. Why stop at one when you can have the whole bag? :P

Haha, may I quote you on FB and Twitter? That's awesome.

Fingers crossed. Now we just need somebody to buy it.
Anybody fancy an LRC (late reader copy)?

Yeah. This is where my dread of beta readers lies. When some feel this way and some feel that way. The ones I had on my first novel were fabulous, don't get me wrong.*
Glad you published it. Bottom line, if we love our books, they need to be out there just in case someone else will love them, too.
*Rant edited out... will be saved for another time in a better place.
