Jane Jago | 1015 comments Today I am grateful for Goodreads friends. I broke my own rules and got cross about something. And it's at time like that when proper friends say. "Shut up and sit down and stop being an arse".

Thanks my friends. You know who you are...

Lyra Shanti (lyrashanti) | 533 comments Two figures in the fog, huh? I love when The Muse is all mysterious. And Song of Solomon? Awesome! I knew you had naughty side. ;)

Great interview!

message 357: by Jane (new)

Jane Jago | 1015 comments I have many sides. So many in fact that I can be removed from tricky situations with a spanner!

And isn't everybody gobsmacked the first time they read the Song of Solomon? Yeah it's naughty, but it's also the most beautiful language

message 358: by Jane (new)

Jane Jago | 1015 comments I have found the one whom my soul loves.

message 359: by Jane (new)

Jane Jago | 1015 comments I have a little verse for the weekend

You are old so you shouldn't do that
You should only like knitting. And cats
It shouldn't be you
With a brand-new tattoo
Making love on an old yoga mat

Am going to post a series of growing old disgracefully limericks on my FB pages. I think....

What say you

message 360: by Christina (new)

Jane Jago | 1015 comments You are old so you shouldn't do that

Your voice should be quiet and flat

You shouldn't make jokes

Or argue with folks

Oh be silent, you dreadful old bat

message 365: by Mary Ellen (new)

Mary Ellen Woods (maryellen_woods) | 12 comments It raised a few eyebrows when the over 50 couple in my novel had smokin' hot sex in a laundry room, so yeah I LOVE IT Jane. Keep it coming!

hahaha I'll be honest, I don't particularly like poems but I love that one!

And no, old people shouldn't change how they are or stopped talking. I figure I only have but a few years left to make myself heard. Now is not the time to become silent! :)

With a small finger quirked daintily

It shouldn't be you

With a brandy or two

And a pint of Bacardi or three

And I was really excited to see that you, too, were smitten by Song of Solomon. I will say, reading it at a young age was not the same effect as reading it as an adult;) Ha ha.

Truly. There were layers of the Song of Solomon that passed over my head when I was seven or eight and first read it. But the beauty of the language put hooks in me...

message 386: by Jane (new)

Jane Jago | 1015 comments You are old, and that prompts me to ask

How certain events came to pass

How you got a gold fang

And a piercing that hangs

And a dragon tattooed on your ass

Yup. Father William was part of the inspiration. The rest is just reaction to how the world looks at older women...

Unless you want one

And the next post is definitely NOT Christina's own limerick

Jane Jago | 1015 comments A nursery rhyme for the third age

Freda and Bill went up the hill
To the shop at the end of the street
They bought syrup for chills
Viagra pills
And corn pads for Freda's sore feet
