Anna Lowe | 57 comments Hello,
I would really appreciate it if you could please merge the two identical listings for my one book, "Celebration". It appears in these 2 places:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

and

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

Thank you very much!
Anna

message 3: by Anna (new) - added it

Anna Lowe | 57 comments That's right - there is only one edition, the kindle one. But for some reason there are two listings. I think that might be because I made a listing before the book was released so ARC reviews could be posted, and then when it was released, Goodreads automatically made a new listings. But they are one and the same.

Thank you for your time!

☕ Lachgas ♿ (lachgas) | 9386 comments and none of the ARC were in ebook format (non kindle)?
(then it would just be a combining and not merging)

☕ Lachgas ♿ (lachgas) | 9386 comments and because I just saw it:
is it the same with Adrift? https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... or does Adrift have a real ebook edition at any time?

Anna Lowe | 57 comments Thanks again for your time.
I'm not sure what you mean. I sent all ARCs in ebook format.
Does that clarify?

Because I don't fully understand the first question, I'm confused by the second question. Adrift is one book with only one edition and all ARCs were ebook format.

I hope that helps. Thank you again!

☕ Lachgas ♿ (lachgas) | 9386 comments It means if there ever was an ebook version (and even if it's only an ARC) then the ebooks won't be deleted from goodreads. (and that's what merging means)
then they just get combined (what I already did) but they still will both stay in the database.
a kindle version is in this case not the same as "ebook" .

Anna Lowe | 57 comments Aha. Thanks for explaining.
I really appreciate your time.
Is there a way to avoid the double listing in the future?
Many thanks.

I don't think so, well unless you stop sending out arcs.. GR policy is to keep all the editions of the book because people may want to shelf that particular edition they own (some of them doesn't care, others, me included, are quite pedantic about it), so even if you change cover you will get double listing. But it doesn't really affects the rating or anything like that...

Abcdarian | 26579 comments I think we may be confusing you, Anna, by referring to kindles as not ebooks. It's just that Goodreads lists them separately. Were your ARC ebooks only in kindle format?

Anna Lowe | 57 comments Yes. Thanks for all the help!

message 12: by Abcdarian (new)

Abcdarian | 26579 comments I've asked for the Celebration edition currently labelled ebook to be merged with the kindle: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
