ABANDONED. YA girl trying to find mothers name and past

I read this book in the 2008-9 era. I want to say the name is something along the lines of "I B. ..." Thats really vague but from what I remember its about a girl whose mom is very sick and can't say much other than one line which is the title of the book. The daughter goes on a search for what this means and it ends up having to do something with her name? I think in the end the mom ends up dying. I vividly remember middle school me sobbing in my mothers arms after finishing the book.
