I'm not sure... Murtagh and Eragon are only half brothers, so Roran would be Murtagh's half brother's cousin. *CONFUSION*

message 110: by ~♥Alyssa♥~ (new)

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 592 comments No, wait, one sec...I'm confused. Isn't it like this?

Ok, Selena (Garrow's sister) would have been Roran's aunt. (Oh, yeah, SPOILER!) Then her son with Brom, Eragon, would be Roran's cousin. But she had another son too, Murtagh, with Morzan. So even though they have different dads, their mother is the same, and Roran's aunt's kids would both be his cousins. Right?

Oh, had anyone heard about a book called Eragon's Guide to Alagaesia? Apparently it came out yesterday.

Lol, I know, but I thuoght maybe if someone hadn't read to Brisingr, they might now know that Brom is Eragon's dad, or maybe even that he and Murtagh are related...Bit too late now.

message 115: by Kaiten007 (new)

Kaiten007 | 3 comments I think that CP needs to pull his finger out. He is losing his fan base because he is taking so long writing a book. He doesnt have to worry about the whole ground work of it all, he has already done like 90% of it. I want to know why he takes so long to write a book. Not only that but he doesnt give us, his fans, any updates, which is quite frankly impolite, rude and disrespectful. If he is going to spend over 3 yrs writing a single book i think regular updates are required. The last time we heard about something was 6 MONTHS AGO!!! CP needs to get off his ass, stop going to book shops and promoting a book that is 3 yrs old but has a few extra pages for the point of money. its friggin stupid. Why doesnt he realise that fans are only really interested in finding about the book he should be writing not a few more pages. If CP wanted more money than he should have been smarter when the movie was made. What he allowed for the purposes of blockbuster-ness ruined the movie. The end fight of the movie promoted a mastery that he didnt have. And it made it difficult for sequel. Not that I think there will be a sequel.

This is to CP or his team - Stop piss farting around, put you head down and write BOOK 4. If you didnt spend 3 yrs writing a book you would have a bigger fan base and you could make more money. You would have made more stories, more worlds. You should already know where the story is heading, just write the thing.
This is to the Publishers of the book - Set CP a due date. Make him hurry his ass up.

Thats all i can say. I have been honest, i could have said more to emphasize points but i just pray you understand what damage is occurring here. It seems to alot of people that you treat your writing as a hobby and not your life. You cant do that when you create epics. I know of a author who writes a book a month and most other authors write 2 or 3 a year. CP you really need to hurry up on this. Thousands of people are giving up on you because you are taking so long finishing of the series. They are giving up on waiting.

message 116: by ~♥Alyssa♥~ (new)

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 592 comments I don't know of any author who can write a quality book in one month...I just think he wants it to be perfect. And also, he has a life outside of writing, so it's not like he has unlimited time to pour into it. But I still wish he would hurry up a bit.

message 117: by Kaiten007 (new)

Kaiten007 | 3 comments OK so he is trying to reach for perfection. That doesnt explain why he cant supply weekly/fortnightly or even monthly updates as to where he is up to in the book, What the chapter name is, or even chapter number, how many pages he has written etc. This is something that he should be doing considering he is spending over 3 years writing it. We are lucky to get a once a year update. It's pretty pathetic.

I still dont know why he needs to go to book shops to promote the "Deluxe Version" of Brisingr which only has a few more pages. For christ sakes, its still the same book. And it is hardly a reason to spend that time making a appearance to promote a few more pages when he could be using that time to WRITE a few more pages of BOOK 4.

message 118: by Graziella (new)

Graziella (grazia) | 664 comments I was asking a question about when he will write the fourth book in another thread. I missed this thread (obviously)

I know...i mean he can write it then go over it again....and see if he wants to keep a scene or wants to add more...

not sure how the book writing process takes place but I would start with the author actually finishing the whole book then editing...which might take a while if it is a big book.

anyhow...maybe it will be ready for christmas of 2010?

message 119: by ~♥Alyssa♥~ (new)

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 592 comments I hope it will be...And I'm betting it will be, too.

message 120: by Kaiten007 (new)

Kaiten007 | 3 comments Well for 1, Considering how long he is taking to write it, I think we should be informed as to how he is going with it. That guy i said earlier who made a quality book each month, he would have weekly blogs. I was told that on his blogs he would be like "had a bad week this week, only wrote 10,000 words." And since he is so long writing it, he should be able to understand that alot of fans are unsure if he i giving his all and such and not writing a little here and a little there. And another reason would be to keep the fans hooked, to keep us informed of his progress would keep us anxious and make us feel that we are sort of going through a similar journey as CP in writing it.

Jessica | 15 comments I absolutely loved his books. But frankly I am tired of waiting and have moved on to other fantastic books. And at this point I have come to the conclusion that he will never finish the book and come to terms with the story being unfinished.

Graziella (grazia) | 664 comments too bad he can't publish a book in a year.. like LJ smith can....She published her triology series of Vampire diaries the return : night fall in feb 2009, then her next one out is due in March 2010..

a year is a long enough time to accomplish write a book...considering the nightfall book is about 587 pages... who knows how long the second book will be but point is...a year to write a forth book of a quadology (is that the right terminology??) is good enough...I usually finish writing my fanficiton in a year's time.

message 123: by ~♥Alyssa♥~ (new)

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 592 comments J.K Rowling took about two years between books, I think. Amd Shannon Hale gets 1-2 books a year.

message 124: by Graziella (new)

Graziella (grazia) | 664 comments that's not bad...I guess it varies the speed of the author.

message 125: by Graziella (new)

then maybe i could finish my book idea.

Oh cool, Grazi!

My friend is writing two series'. She's working on the first, and has all the characters completely planned out and most of the plot. I actually think she's started writing it. My inbox on facebook is filled with the descriptions of each character.

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 592 comments Katie wrote: "I'd think that's be the fun part for my sis. She has cool ideas and likes to write, but she gets stuck when parts of the plot don't fit."

Oh, I have the plot perfectly and know like, EXACTLY what happens, down to the most inconsequential detaill. I just don't know how to write it down. It takes too long and it's boring.

message 129: by ~♥Alyssa♥~ (new)

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 592 comments It's not boring, I just don't have the patiece to commit it to paper. I'm more of a "storyteller" than an author. I guess I am a writer, I just can't write anything very long. But like I said, I love coming up with plots and ideas and planning out scenes and adding imagery and trying to make it "pretty."

message 130: by ~♥Alyssa♥~ (new)

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 592 comments Well, a play would be fun, even though I can't act, but I just like books so much better. And I've never made a movie....Wonder how that would be. I just like how in books, you can express things better and incorporate thought and imagery and mood.

message 131: by ~♥Alyssa♥~ (new)

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 592 comments Yeah, pretty much. I can easily go through my story and know exactly what's happening, how it feels, what it's like, etc., but I don't know how to express it right on paper.

message 132: by ~♥Alyssa♥~ (new)

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 592 comments I could, but I'm REALLY lazy when it comes to writing. That's bad of me, I know, and I'm trying to fix it.

I can tell you that it involves like a adventure/ fantasy story world i've created using the names of various birthstones. but that is all i'm willing to share..

Sorry....I've had a experience where someone stole my fanfiction and said they wrote it. so i wasn't to pleased about that... It's not that i don't trust you or anyone on her...is the other 5 million people that surf the web for stuff...that might or could come upon it....you know what i mean?

that's good for her...it's hard to start working on a series...but its good that she has it all thought out and everything it makes it a bit easier to write.

I have no time to work on my book though...work, school take up most of my time.
and i got to fit sleep in there as well. that is important XD

Have you read any good books lately?"

I was reading Vampire dairies...it is not too bad. kind of weird...but i like damon in the book he is very interesting...so now i'm waiting for book two of the return series ( a new series) which comes out in march.

and right now i'm reading Warrior book 2 of the wolfblade series. Its a story of romance, betrayal, politics...ect.. I think i told you about it once.

other then that....i'm working on chemistry course work..or trying too...

message 140: by ~♥Alyssa♥~ (new)

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 592 comments The Warriors series is about cats, but I think she's talking about different books. Like, Wolfblade or something, and the book itself is called "Warrior."

message 141: by Graziella (new)

Graziella (grazia) | 664 comments Katie wrote: "Okay. I don't remember it at all."

lol

it's okay.

Yeah like Alyssa said...book two is called Warrior and it's part of the Wolfblade series...which is about four books long. I should have explained that better.

its a huge soap opera/fantasy/politics story...women have a large role in this medieval world.

there is suggestive material in here too.

which would be predictable.....hence from the dream or vision which ever that was from the first book. @_@ wouldn't that be exciting?

I do hope he decides to change that....if he can...maybe it is too late to change it?

that's true...it keeps on getting asked over and over again...there is only so much you can discuss about...while waiting for the fourth book... :)

message 150: by Viti (new)

Viti | 80 comments hmmm interesting theory Katie but I don't think its going to be like that if Eragon could spend years on this other world he might as well try and find the true name of magic it self then when he comes back he will be really powerful because he controls magic and he would kill Galby in an instant and I think that wouldn't work out because it won't be exciting.
