In the section on ebook page counts, could Amazon be explicitly stated as the only authoritative source for Kindle editions?

See f.e rivka's comment here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Thanks in advance!

I have yet to see a publisher other than Amazon list a page count specific to a Kindle edition.

lethe | 16359 comments Yes, but there was some confusion earlier today over what the correct source was for page counts of Kindle editions.

Mike Briggs (mikebriggs) | 188 comments I've seen publishers list the ISBN for the Kindle version of the book (well, mobi; and if you put that ISBN into an Amazon search, it leads to the Kindle version on Amazon) - and include page count (actually I just looked. The publisher I had in mind only includes word count, not page count - as in, for example - https://www.ylva-publishing.com/produ... - 136,000 words, 978-3-95533-642-4 (mobi)).

So I suppose, in theory, since Ylva includes information on the Kindle version, but not a page count, there might be a publisher out there that adds the page count. Possibly.

Ah - I see now why Ylva only has word count. Then they don't have to do separate entries. However many pages the separate things are - all of them have the same number of words.

While in some cases an ISBN will bring up a Kindle edition, that same ISBN is often used for the non-Kindle ebook on other sites.
