Part 1

Is kinda impressive there is no poorness or poverty, everyone can have the age they want instead their real one, no global warming and a lot of more things but still no one wants to die even when they are really old. I guess everything has their cons and pros even in this so modern dystopian world.

I wanna know where Citra and Rowan are going with this. Scythe Faraday is so decent, I liked him already. (hide spoiler)]

Part 2

(view spoiler)[I knew Scythe Faraday was going to die in this book but I didn't expect it to be so sooner, he was a decent man and I will not forget him. I also knew Rowan was going to end with Scythe Goddard and his crew somehow I wanna know how much he will change now. And Citra with Scythe Curie I can't wait, I liked her since the beginning.

I liked how this book clearly shows nothing is that great, we saw how Goddard and his crew behaves and actually enjoy and take advantage for being Scythes and how no one does anything about it. This just shows how messed up can be a new system and still people think is okay.

I still don't like this romance between Rowan and Citra, so I'll just ignore it and see them as friendship which would be way more appropriate. (hide spoiler)]

Part 3 - Chapter 23

(view spoiler)[I want so bad Rowan become like Goddard and I don't know why maybe because I want him to show his true colors. I don't know who this girl Esme is? Maybe she is the next Thunderhead or Supreme Blade? Everyone keeps talking about Thunderhead like a system but what if is a person? I won't be surprise this book is getting under my skin and I loved it.

Scythe Curie is so damn cool I kinda have a crush with her but I missed so much Scythe Faraday. Also, this character Scythe Volta seems more like a spy in Goddard's crew than anything I hope he is one of the good ones.

Can't wait to know how the second Conclave will go.

(view spoiler)[ I really like this book so far. The first chapter sucked me in right away. I like how Scythe Faraday is accepting of Rowan and Citra sticking up for people and how patient he is.

I also really like the concept of this story. How there is no hunger, poverty, or issues that currently exist today. Its super interesting to read about because you can always try to imagine the world like that, but I doubt it would ever exist. And how even in a world so perfect there is still dark things like death (hide spoiler)]

Part 4 - Chapter 31
(view spoiler)[This book keeps having plot twist and I loved it! Every time I thought the plot is going one way it takes another way.

I never thought Scythe Curie and Scythe Faraday were lovers, that must be so cute and now Curie doing all she can to defend and protect Citra is amazing. I want to know where Citra is going and what is going to happen, I don't think she will make it to the Winter Conclave and The Thunderhead actually talking to her... Wow.

So now Scythe Goddard really showed all his true colors and Esme is really the Supreme's kid, I'm glad this book is showing all the flaw a system has and who someone can take advantage of it.

Still Rowan doesn't make any development at all and I hate his superhero act, nobody asked for it kid. But anyway, I still have hope he changes a little. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I knew Scythe Faraday was alive! I'm so glad they all keep a secret he was alive and didn't reveal his existence. Poor Scythe Volta, I knew he was going to die but just to glean himself and in such a hurtful way, wow. That was so sad! And I'm so glad Rowan FINALLY did something, I was so scared and disappointment if he will succumb to Scythe Goddard.

I thought Scythe Faraday was going somehow help and heal Rowan but now he is Scythe Lucifer (I kinda love the name) and I'm hoping he wears a black robe, that would be so awesome.

Anyway, I really liked this book can't wait to read the second I think it will be more relate to the Thunderhead than the Scythedom and I just can't wait.

OMG!! That ending though! I knew exactly when Xenocrates mentioned that Faraday gleaned himself it was to save one of them. He slightly alluded to it earlier. But then the plot twist of other Scythes stepping up to take them as apprentices. Im slightly confused as to whether one of them will still have to glean the other now that they have separate Scythes to be apprentices to?

Also I hope that Rowan doesnt begin to follow Goddard's ways. He is so cruel. I feel like the author split them like that on purpose. One good. One bad (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ The endings of these parts are amazing! I 100% didn't suspect that ending of Citra being accused but it does make sense because Rowan asked Goddard. (as if he was going to tell you lol).

I'm not entirely convinced Goddard did it though. After seeing the way Xenocrates jumped into the pool when Goddard threatened his daughter, I feel like maybe Xenocrates did it. (to keep Goddard innocent he got Xenocrates to do it by threatening his daughter). Of course I can be entirely wrong, but I just feel like Goddard is too obvious of a suspect.

Also I hope Citra can figure out a way to prove her innocence and blame whoever the person who killed Faraday. I don't want either Rowan or Citra to be gleaned! Both of the kids have grown on me wayyyyy too much!!! :( (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Ok. I love Scythe Currie! She's such a genuine character. Idk I just love her. And the fact that Faraday and Currie died 7 times for each other is crazy! I don't understand that rule but ig its just a rule.

Also the fact that Faraday is still alive! My jaw dropped on that one! Like I had to reread twice to make sure I wasn't making stuff up.

Also I like the end where Rowan finally stands up to the scythes mentoring him. It proves that he hasn't changed and is still in fact Rowan. I will admit tho I was expecting him to kill the tonist instead of Goddard! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ the moment I've been 100% not looking forward to has finally arrived and like I expected Citra was chosen. But I actually think Rowan acted like he did on purpose because I remember Faraday saying the guy apprentice (earlier in the book) wouldn't be chosen because he liked killing too much. So Rowan acted like he wanted to kill.

But I love Citra for her plan that actually worked!!!

And the part where Rowan finds out Faraday is still alive! And when they say "I love you" to each other! I literally was almost crying tears of joy!

I am most definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the trilogy very very soon! :) (hide spoiler)]

Part 2 (view spoiler)[I need some time to process this. Scythe Faraday gleaned himself to save the two. It really is heartbreaking thinking about how responsible he felt for his job and to keep it humane.

I think Rowan will break under Goddard. Rowan is taking all the decisions he made previously very serious and Goddard is ruthless, I just hope Rowan can keep some of his personality even with the influences of Goddard. (hide spoiler)]

okay so I'm pretty far through this book now, nearly 80% which I know is quite far but I wasn't planning on buddy reading this. The next part for me is part 4.

so far I really like the story and concept but I would prefer it if it was slightly faster paced.

I hate Goddard and I know you're meant to but he is evil. Rowan is an okay character but Citra is my favourite, as well as Scythe Faraday and Scythe Curie.
