Ah, so people reading at different levels. I will speed reread City if Bones, then 31st of January will begin City of Ashes. I have read most of the Shadow Hunter series and I am up to Season 2 on Netflix as well. maybe, I will finish off the Clockwork Princess and then Heavenly Fire. i am so hooked on this series.

Maddison, I can probably start at the end of January or beginning of February. Whenever you guys are reading it. I have next week off, so I can probably finish City of Bones next week. So I'll be set to read the second book with you guys after that.

I have reopened The City of Bones again. I have it in my library. To keep up with you all I will buy the City of Ashes and begin it at the end of the month. I have a few others on the goal, but I will be persistent this year.........

I tried watching the 1st episode of The Shadow Hunters but the acting was kind of cringeworthy. Does it get better? If it does I'll give it another chance. I was really hoping to get into it.

Nope it doesn't XD Clary's acting is still extremely shit.

The plot gets a bit better and everyone else's acting (mainly the guy playing Alec) get better, but I can tell you that Clary and Jace basically suck the whole show =/ Their dialogue isn't as cheesy at the end of season one which does help some though.

Jace isn't as bad as Clary. She's just so fake.

Alright so I've decided to read City of Ashes sometime this month as part of a challenge, so I'll let you guys know when I'm starting. It'll probably be in a week.

I'm almost done with city of bones and I actually really like it so far. I agree about Clary in the book and the show. I saw a few episodes of the show and although it was cheesy, it made me wanna read the series. Now that I'm reading it, I feel like I'm reading about a completely different person with Clary in the book vs Clary in the show.

Hahahaha I just rewatched season one since I didn't like it and therefore didn't pay enough attention to it to remember it for season two, and the whole time I kept rolling my eyes at him running his fingers through his hair in every scene! I finally watched the premiere of season two and it was actually pretty good. I think Kat and Alberto have a lot of real life chemistry together because their scenes are done perfectly and the Clary and Jace scenes are just... no bueno. If any of you guys follow EmmmaBooks on youtube her Shadowhunters episode reviews are totally spot on.

I finally finished City of Bones today and there was so much stuff I forgot. I think the audiobook, the movie (because I do love the movie), and the show must have gotten all tangled up in my brain lol

So I forgot about how much the Forsaken were involved in this book. I don't know why I totally forgot about them. The dreams Clary had in the beginning were prophetic, so maybe that's where they got all the rune-drawing stuff in the beginning of the movie. I forgot about the phone call Clary made to Luke when she woke up at the institute, and how much he was involved in the final chapter. I feel like he was not utilized in the show and movie adaptions like he should have been. I also forgot about Abbadon (view spoiler)[ and how Simon saved the day. Which is funny, considering how the series ends. (hide spoiler)] I think that's all of the rambling I'm going to do about this one =)

Are we putting each book into it's own thread and having everyone just jump in when they are ready? I have a few more books to get through before I start City of Ashes.

I will probably start it in about a week but these books are so long and I read multiple books so it will likely take me a week to finish it.

See, I'm hardcore shipping Clary and Simon for the show because I think the actors have chemistry. Kat and Dom are so awkward together that their scenes make me cringe lol I do like that Matthew Daddario is allowed to have emotions now, because he is damn gorgeous when he doesn't act like a robot.
