I really liked this story line. I hated what happened to Lydia but loved how it brought her and Louisa closer.

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1301 comments Again, I have finished reading another unpublished book:
Nothing Wanting By Juliecoop https://www.dwiggie.com/derby/old_200...

It is about 90 pages long. It begins in Kent where the Colonel tells Elizabeth about Wickham rather than about how Darcy helped his friend, Bingley, by separating him from Jane. When ODC meet at Rosings that evening Darcy and Elizabeth make strides to better understand the relationship they have had and how he, especially, has taken her teasing to be a type of flirting and how she has totally misunderstood his stares, etc. That night neither can sleep. She dresses and walks in the parsonage garden, while he wanders and finds himself near that same garden. Sigh...what ensues is so romantic. BUT never fear they are not spared their period of misunderstanding and estrangement in this tale. Anne and her mother figure heavily in events in this variation.

WOW!!! Sheila, those numbers are climbing!!!

message 262: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (dmbrown) | 734 comments Great to see Lenora and Sheila still piling on the books!

message 263: by Mary (new)

Mary | 709 comments Wonderful,Sheila! Well done! And yes,we have no doubt that you'll go well beyond your goal!

message 264: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1301 comments I am going to read 2 more JAFF but then I plan to read the N&S variation Nicole recommended and FINALLY read the last in the Outlander series. Thanks for the compliment.

message 265: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments Nice plans Sheila. Set a goal [2 JAFF], while dangling a reward [N&S, which we all know you love], and then follow up with the Outlander, which you have longed to read since it came out. Excellent!! A lady with a plan.

message 266: by Mary (new)

Mary | 709 comments Sheila-you know I simply have to ask,is the N&S variation A Heart For Milton? If not, would you mind telling me what it is? Thanks so much.

message 267: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1301 comments Yes, that is the one. I have a list of N&S variations as well as Jane Eyre variations which someday I hope to read. I read Jane Eyre 8 times before discovering JA.

message 268: by Mary (last edited Feb 24, 2017 09:07AM) (new)

Mary | 709 comments Thank you. Hope you love every minute you spend reading it. Looking forward to reading your thoughts on it.
Have yet to read Jane Eyre.

message 269: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1301 comments Oh, Mary, it is such a classic but deals with an emotionally abusive aunt in the beginning.

message 270: by Mary (new)

Mary | 709 comments It's on my bucket list,Sheila!! One of the girls at work is always recommending Wuthering Heights, which I've yet to read. One of these days...!!

message 271: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1301 comments Wuthering Heights is a good story but not HEA...very dark!!! I have several DVDs of this one also. One has Timothy Dalton as Heathcliff. Dark brooding man.

message 272: by Mary (new)

Mary | 709 comments I'm not a huge fan of Timothy Dalton,Sheila.
I think I'll have to set some time aside to read some of these classics.

message 273: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (dmbrown) | 734 comments I love Jane Eyre, with the spunky governess and the spooky twist. Wuthering Heights is one that's grown on me. I had to really study it when it was required reading for the college track high school seniors I taught, and that's when I started to appreciate it. Rebecca is another that's similar with the dark undertone. Not exactly a typical romance, but it has a haunting quality about it that sort of grabs you.

message 274: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 313 comments I could not, how ever much I tried, read Wuthering Heights and I applaud anyone who does. Jane Eyre is good. Actually Mary the dvd of JE with Timothy Dalton is excellent. It's true to the book and he is a brilliant Rochester.
I'm reading a book at the moment about Anne Bronte who was the overlooked one of the sisters. It's interesting so far.

message 275: by Mary (new)

Mary | 709 comments Teresa,I'm delighted that you're enjoying the book about Anne B.
At the moment I'm kinda at a standstill, not really able to read anything......

message 276: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 313 comments I HATE when that happens Mary but it seems to happen to everyone at some stage. My daughter is going through it at the moment. She's on mid term and had loads of plans but got nowhere with them.

message 277: by Mary (last edited Feb 24, 2017 03:58PM) (new)

Mary | 709 comments I can totally relate with how your daughter is feeling,Teresa!!

Timothy Dalton played both Rochester and Heathcliff. I always loved his eyes.

Mary? What's going on? Just needing a break after all the books you've already read, or is it something more serious?

And Lenora, I'm with Jeanne. That last one you listed has a startling title, to be sure!

message 282: by Mary (new)

Mary | 709 comments Lenora-well done on having read 32 books! Wow!

message 283: by Mary (new)

Mary | 709 comments Debbie-
I think I just need a break from reading! That sounds like a sacrilege,I know, but sometimes when this happens with JAFF,I simply move to a different genre, which I did. However,I'm finding it hard to concentrate,so,as they say,I'm on a break!!

message 284: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (dmbrown) | 734 comments Perfectly understandable. I was concerned it might be because of illness or family emergency. Relieved to learn you're just "on a break!"

message 285: by Mary (new)

Mary | 709 comments Debbie-you are so kind! Thank you for your concern.

message 286: by J. W. (new)

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1166 comments We love you Mary and everyone takes breaks. Nothing wrong with that. Just stay on line with us as we enjoy your input and comments. I figure I will break also as I HAVE to spring, summer, fall, winter... clean my house and I don't even know if I can find my vacuum. It's here somewhere... under... all this... whatever it has evolved into.

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 1301 comments Yes, I also stated my intention to read a N&S variation and then Outlander #8 so...I guess I will be on break when I do that but you will still see my comments here.

Enjoy your other books, Mary.

26 reviews with only a 1.9 star average on Amazon - guess that there is something lacking in this one. Good to knock off another one but too bad it was not more enjoyable.
