Blimey, dogs are usually difficult to forget! Mwahahahrgh!

Not, I trust, in the dogs presence!
Anyway, today's writing is actually to release 'Lambing almost live'

Will wrote: "Wow, Jim! Can't keep up with the volume you are releasing!"Seriously, that's a side effect of blogging.
Effectively every week I add at least a thousand words to the Tallis Steelyard opus and slightly less to the dogs and quads (because with the dogs and quads blog there is more wastage, stuff that isn't really suitable for collecting)
Then I spent a lot of time preparing stuff for a blog tour to get the new novellas out there
But it has meant the Tallis Steelyard novel has stood still since about the 12th December :-(

Nooooo! I love the shorts but the longer Tallis stories, and the Tallis and Benor stories are wonderful.

Me neither! Every now and again I just go to Jim's Amazon page and download all the ones I haven't got, then I read them on holiday. I do this to yours too, although I don't always go for the horror ones because I'm a soft shite and can't cope with it.
Mwahahahahrgh!
Good one! Bought it, read it yesterday ON MY PHONE (I'm getting younger every day), and left a review.

Great new book. When is the next one out?
the advantage of the dog and quad books is that they're effectively already been written. I try and bring out one a year :-)

Because 'it's the next lot of blogs' I have been known to 'overlap', forgetting where I stopped last time.
But this time I thought I'd weeded out the one that had found itself in both :-(

Not at all a complaint. I love your sheep'n'Sal stories. I reviewed. Good luck on this side of the pond.
When I get back to blogging (soon, I hope) and writing, I'll mention it on my tiny-following blog. I've got to get out of crisis mode.

Actually managed a bit of editing today - my brain seems to have returned from vacation.I hate it when people ask me "How's the writing going?" and it's been dry for weeks.
Have managed to do some editing on the next book but had comments in the last crit round that stumped me a bit about something important. Anyway, a couple of people I used to swap crits with have agreed to look at it so might get a different input from them.

No new words today, except that I produced a Reader's Guide for PC over the weekend. Three dense pages covering everything I could think of.
No new words today, except that I produced a Reader's Guide for PC over the weekend. Three dense pages covering everything I could think of.The purpose was my first invitation to be a guest at a book club, this morning - I wanted to have something to refer to if we all stared each other in the face, blank-minded.
The book club was fun - I'll do it again in a flash (I can see me turning into a ham, easily), and I got a chance to read a section with one of my favourite scenes, out loud, which went well. I may actually some day be able to do the 'As read by the author' audio version (not being nearly as lucky as our very own MT).
I did my bit answering question for a while, and then sat back and enjoyed watching the members recommend books to each other that they've loved - and brought along. They put a sticky note in the front and anyone who wants to read the book, from the discussion, adds her name. The books go home with the next person on the list, after each meeting.
This is a different way to run a club, but it gets books read which are vetted by someone you know. I was told five members had read my book that way - but none of those showed up this time. Busy lives.
Best part: it was held down three flights in a friend's apartment - and I didn't even have to leave the building.
Glad it went well Alicia. Sounds like a blast. I think reasons world be fun but a big leaving curve for deffo. 🙂

Been a bit quiet as I've been trying to release my inner Viking. Family legend is that we have Viking descent - maybe I should do one of those tests and find out?

Managed 500 words on a new story on Friday, and wrote a massive blog post today, otherwise, I haven’t been up to much. Looks like the rest of you are pretty busy writing!

Worked on the novel last week and sent sections off for crit to a couple of people who hopefully will look at a few chapters at least, after applying a lot of edits people requested in the actual crit group. And to my crit group sent round a novella I wrote some years ago and have polished some more.

Yay! Go Pam! I went to the self publishing live show yesterday and I reckon that sort of counts. 😁 Also still proving the audio ... And hoping they'll let Gareth back into the country after his tour to do the alts.

Actually, that sort of freaky, hand of God response, is exactly the kind of luck that comes to me all the time, absolutely standard to any of my creative endeavours. I suspect I was a very bad person in a previous life to the point where Sod's law is more the norm for me than the exception. Sod hates me.
On the other hand, all those people stuck indoors need stuff to read, right? Swings and roundabouts. :-)

Alicia wrote: "Have a little more faith - you're due for some good stuff!"I sent Gareth a message, yesterday, saying I hoped all was well and he replied that his tour had been cancelled two hours before and he flew home last night. He reckoned a couple of days and he'd be up and running. So now I have to get my finger out of my arse and send his alts back asap. 🤣🤣🤣

Gargantuan blog post yesterday. I really don’t need to think, so much wacky stuff happens that all I have to do is write it down.

Can't believe it. We're basically on lockdown, so I exerted some discipline, got lucky in that my brain is on more when I leave the apartment less, and got the last bit organized for the current scene (a massive undertaking), followed by 325 words starting the scene.

I felt completely normal writing today. So good!
