Today I mostly wrote ... the word count thread.
600 words scrapped, and changed to a better plot direction adding 200 new words. Now standing at 30,236 words. This is a favorite trick of mine, anyone else admit to doing this?

Although I have only done a tangent of about 900 words in this book and I think I will be able to use a fair few. Sometimes, with the really big books, I just have to write it to see what it looks like and if it doesn't work, it gets binned.
I frequently write 50-100 word replies to work emails then delete them.I should write them in word instead of in email cuz if I ever send them....
this afternoon 1275 words of Tallis Steelyard. Might not put this in the blog but save it for one of the collections :-)Or it might go on somebody else's blog perhaps?
Every time I see the title of this thread I think of Egyptian cotton sheets (thread count).As for words written/words in the final product, I'm pretty sure I'm over a ration of 10.
I can't store anything in my brain and expect to find it again, so I write every thought down - then scan through the files to locate the pieces that belong in the finished product.
It makes for huge Scrivener files (which Scrivener handles flawlessly).
But you guys are amateurs at tossing stuff.

Still nothing. For me, writing and making money are mutually exclusive, and right now I need the money.
I do that too, Michael. The last Banned book started with 12K from an earlier work that just didn't fit, and I've several thousand words in 4 chapters still to use in another book. All culled as the story direction didn't fit where I wanted the earlier book book to go.

A bit short of time both yesterday & today. Manged around 600 words each day.I may even have spelt one of them correctly.
Which is a shame, because correctly wasn't the word I wanted to write.

Just don't do the wrong rite. That could have serious consequences!
Not forgetting to make sure not to do the right rite wrong either.

I wrote almost 4,000 words Monday between just gone midnight and just after 4am. When it grooves, it moves...
Nothing today. Village meal - cooking, serving, finally eating our own and then washing up and putting away, consumed the day. This evening it's our book group. Meanwhile, I posted a review.
Fucking Norah Stu! Nice going. ;-) I wrote 400 words last night between, 11.00 and 11.30pm. I had to go to sleep then because I was too knackered to go on. I think I'm probably too knackered to do any today; drove a long way and did some emotionally draining stuff.Cheers

Well done, Mary. None for me, again. Been busy making greenery decorations ready for the church carol service tomorrow evening. Tiring!
175. Not a great total but it takes me to the end of my first edit. I now need to go back and decide where the additional chapter(s) need to go.
Nice going. I discovered that tomorrow's lunch was today so I didn't write anything today. McOther couldn't make football either so I am looking forward to having a bit more time tomorrow. :-)
Did OK today, a couple of rather disparate strands seem to be coming together and I have managed 1,520 words. Quite chuffed because, due to the aforementioned disparate strands being annoyingly disparate, it was hard going at first. But the great thing about a 20k effort is that if you do have a gap it only takes you an hour or so to read your way back into it!Cheers

managed just under 2000 words of Tallis Steelyard, I've also got a 30k word story I'm working on of his as well
finished the 3 short stories and TV script I had on the go. Might just take a break over Xmas, although I do have an ongoing project at about 8000 words right now. Not sure what length it will be.

Good going! Mine's a novella, too. They're kind of easier to get your head round aren't they? Mine's going much faster than my novels usually do.

Still nothing written on paper though I took a long hard look at a short story in my head on Boxing Day. I have a feeling I might need to do the Winston Churchill thing to get back into this again.

I snatched a forbidden moment to write 1,255 words when I was supposed to be sending a mail shot, sorting out a health kerfuffle for my dad and wrapping presents - I did wrap a few though and did sort dad. And I think I should be able to sort out the mail shot tonight. It only has to go sometime today.
Nothing likely tomorrow or thursday as I'll be at the old dears, as usual, followed by staying over and taking them to a funeral on Thursday and then haring back for school pick up. oh balls, I haven't packed either!
