Today I mostly wrote ... the word count thread.
Not wishing to vote but today I wrote 5,800 words of Tallis Steelyard, or rather his account of one of Shena's adventures.I'd worked out the story yesterday so I just had to write it and for once people have left me along so I had an hour this morning, two this afternoon and two this evening :-)

Nice going Jim! Sounds like today was a bit of a gift. I'm kind of in the same boat. I know what's happening in this one and it's just a case of putting what's happening in my head on the page. It's going to be more than 20k though.
This one was designed to be less than that, I hoped it would be in under 6000K words. But it was a good day from the writing point of view

So it's over 6k? But you're still nearly there with 5.8. ;-) I'm so tempted to do some more on mine but I'm just having a quick shufty at the computer before bed now, so I can't.

6 million words? Blimey that's a big 'un! (as the actress said to the bishop . . .)
I'm going to try and get some writing done later. There will be nothing tomorrow, as I'm at the Llandeilo book fair all day.
I only have an hour today, then it's the weekend and I've left four poor girls in caveman suits stuck down a drain so I really have to go and get them out!Cheers

I am picturing Mary dressed in a plumber outfit pulling the girls out of the drain! Brandishing her plunger in one hand :)
Not actually adding a word count at present as I'm still editing the mammoth fantasy novel - or at least I was up to the end of November. Christmas preps have currently taken over so the only writng is cards and notes.
I have written about 250 words today - it was all a bit busy - so the poor ladies are still stuck down the drain.I did have the kind of day that folks would declare unrealistic if I put it in a book it was splendid!
Thank you GL that is exactly what I look like. :-)
Actually, looking at her, she'd probably need footballs, and a mattress to wrap around her waist. Phnark.
up to 2300 words for the short story which is pretty much all of them. Now just to arrange them in the correct order
Nice! Hope the rearranging goes well! I'm thinking I have a couple of scenes in the wrong order so there will be a bit of rejigging for me today, or tomorrow if McMini is too exciteable for me to get to it today.
I'm reading through the story I abandoned for NaNo so I may or may not add some words today depending on how long the read-through takes.
Added 237 words. Not my best word count! But I'm only up to Ch 5 and still have stuff to read, and new chapters to write. It's a start.
I think it's going to end up as a novella. Genre Sci-fi. Yes, I think it'll be out there eventually. Got other things before it in the queue, though.
I also managed to write 2 new flash fiction pieces this weekend, even though my focus was supposed to be on the short story. I'll take them though... You can read one here on my blog "Suicide Note" http://sulcicollective.blogspot.co.uk...
Nothing achieved over the weekend but a plan... But a plan is at least half the battle. ;-) Would be nice to finish before the holidays ... I have five 'working' days. So that's 7.5 hours. I might do it ... I might ... We shall see. ;-)Cheers

I've added 788 to the current project today. As I enjoyed that, I shall punish myself (for balance) by writing Christmas cards!
Nice going David and Kath.1,000 ... just! So it's up to 12675. Might have to delete a chunk though, it went off in the wrong direction. I've left the tangent in place for now, because it might come in handy later in a slightly altered format.
Now off to do the school run. Not sure I'll finish it before the Christmas writing embargo comes down. eeeee it's going to be touch and go.
Cheers

We should have a daily running total! I make it 2,607 today: if we divide that between the thread's subscribers we're probably on something like 130 words each! I feel a glowing sense of achievement.
Why not? I think we should all share in their success (though I'm saying that because apart from a very silly poem for a drinks party I've written nothing today, and even that wasn't finished).
Not sure you would be able to use 'tierce' though, as it has quite a specialised meaning - "an organ stop sounding two octaves and a major third above the pitch of the diapason."
Yes, thought of those, but couldn't fit them in. Ended up changing the verse entirely. I'd forgotten how much I liked doing silly poems for parties, but also forgotten how much time they take up - but it's 514 words so far!

Sorry to hear you had to work Will. That's pants. Nice one Patti, phnark. Did you type any phrases ending in 'off'?
