Today I mostly wrote ... the word count thread.
I did 1,586 and the 'short' novel has now hit 45,238 so I'm really pleased to have hit 45 before the holiday. I'm off skiing tomorrow and then we're driving through France and I doubt I will be able to do any writing ... although I've printed it out to read so if I do get a chance to scribble a few words I shall.
I wrote 435 words today. If you know what I've been through lately, you'd see what a victory it was. Otherwise, just take it from me: progress.
Going to seriously try and break my duck this month. Haha April fool!No but seriously, what with Camp Nano being on, and Spring Break happening at the duck pond (you should see those mallards - it's disgusting!) I need to do some writing. New series, new characters, new genre, a complete restart . . .

yeh, I can only imagine! Wee done... I meant well done but that autocorrect made me laugh so much I left it. :-)

Yup. Autocorrect is the new humour in this century - full of interesting embarrassments for the unsuspecting and non-proofing public.

800 words today. Unfortunately they were all towards our short story competition. So far I've managed to discard 530, but the last 70 are really digging their heels in. And that's in the face of a pair of tweezers and a filleting knife.

Excellent! I will look forward to it. we should have a competition to see who takes longest to write the book.
Haha. I got a couple of A5 pages scrawled out, dunno how many words that is. But we can finally say hello to Constable 3rd Class Summer Moon, who is currently riding the beanstalk to High Quito Station, some 36000 miles above Ecuador. In around 24 hours she will take up her first assignment...
689 words on the 1st draft today. Very slow.Makes me wonder if I want to write thrillers after all.
About to go back to the current outline which is about an inept apprentice wizard working undercover.
Nothing written today because I sent the WIP for beta reading on Saturday - yay! spent the morning on buses and taking a pallet apart and building shelves from it. Very satisfying. Now have to think about the novella scheduled for this quarter (and tidying the house).
Nothing written today. I did skiing. It is exciting. In the same way bathing with an electric fire is exciting. I need to work on it. I can stop buy I feel I need to be better before I will feel confident nursing my borrowed knees down a major slope.Cheers

640 words of the sequel to the sequel of Global Domination for Beginners.Plus a 1,000 word article for a trade press magazine on whether self drive cars are a good thing or not. Does that count? I suppose so.
Did you see the article on Saturday on self drive bicycles? I'm really not sure thats a good idea...
82 words. Not quite as 'blood out of a stone' as it sounds, but I'm revising and I only had chance to do one chapter.
Well that was unexpected. Spent a fair chunk of the day updating my business photo. Which is harder than it sounds when you've got to take a picture of yourself and an iphone selfie really won't do.
Then pitched an idea for an article in the Guardian, had it accepted and was asked if I could write it before 9.00 tomorrow morning. So that's what I've been scribbling the past couple of hours. An 800 word article on dieselgate. As you do.
Not what I expected to be doing when I woke up this morning.
No fiction writing, unfortunately, but hey ...

Yeh but ... Writing for money! Woot!

Coo! Well done Will. Now we know someone famous ;-)
Wrote a rough version of a new scene in a notebook yesterday - well it was too sunny to write indoors. Knuckled down to type it up today and then rewrite and rewrite - four hours but got it done and it all counts towards my CampNaNo goal.
Nice. I wrote some funny stuff about skiing yesterday so that's probably 500 or so for the blog. We are touring through France now and the weather is lovely. My Knees are properly shot though.Might see if I can get referred anout the right one. Sometimes if they stick a tube in the joint and have a rummage it feels better for a year or two...
Hoping to knuckle down again next week. Probably just get in the mood and the kids will come for Easter! Still, I can write any time.

Commisserations MT. Sounds nasty.

I might try and lose some weight too. I need to and I know it will help but diets seem to upset the I.b.s. And excercise upsets the knees. I'm a lot thinner thanks I was - not saying much - but still too heavy.
Lexie wrote: "And writing isn't exactly good exercise, is it? Must get out for a walk today!"I find taking a walk is an excellent way to hammer out plot points
Definitely. Though it does result in my talking to myself quite a lot - perhaps not so much a problem in a field somewhere, but on an Aberdeen street it can attract the wrong kind of attention. Often from other people who talk to themselves quite a lot, too.

I suspect a majority of them are on their handsfree phones :-)

My characters have got bored with hanging around waiting for me to give them something to do and have gone shopping instead.
