Today I mostly wrote ... the word count thread.

Although, I used to work in a place that supplied fixings to the building industry. So if a customer had come in wanting to know the best way of attaching a comedian to a guitarist (of any size), I should have been able to come up with a reasonable answer at the time.
I think I did about 600-700 words today. It's difficult to tell when you're jumping around adding bits - when I change something I do the continuity all the way through at the same time so I don't get lost or confused later, when it gets bigger. I'm quite chuffed with that as I spent most of the morning reasearching and sourcing a walker for my Mum. Sigh.
W.I.P. has now hit 30k! Woot!
Cheers

Yeh how and why would you. I want to know too. sorry I did my usual post on an old page and miss the new stuff thing.

Cost me £ 10 from the junk shop.

I'll see your lavatory riser, wheelie tray and perching stool and up the ante with some furry, zip-up, tartan slippers (with bobbles)!!

No. It is how old I feel today.
I doubt I'll be adding to this thread until the next book is given its freedom - more about that at the weekend.
Oo-er, Kath!Did my quota on the train to Edinburgh today so quite chuffed (no pun intended, too tired for that kind of thing!). Whether I'll manage it tomorrow is another thing - lots of domesticity to deal with.
Nothing today it was visit the parents day. Hopefully I'll get something done tomorrow spent rather a lot of yesterday researching and then purchasing a rollater, which is what those things with wheels all people used to walk and occasionally sit on a called. Tomorrow I have to buy three grab rails but with any luck that shouldn't take too long.
Here's hoping anyway.
Cheers

Mine has four wheels and brakes, and is a frame I can stand very straight in, with a fold down seat. I work hard at staying vertical.

I tried to get a tall one so she can walk with a straight back. She is doddery but more than anything she's dizzy so she needs support and two points of orientation in the form of the handles, more than anything.
I'd like my imagination back please. I did sit down to write something yesterday, while the computer was tied up with other things. But nothing came out :-/
Tim wrote: "I'd like my imagination back please. I did sit down to write something yesterday, while the computer was tied up with other things. Well, sometimes works for me.
1024 words this morning. I'm pleased that I'm getting on with this one as I've been volunteered for jury service *again* next month.
So I'd like to get a decent amount of it done before I'm to take a break from it. Otherwise I might lose track of what I'm doing.
I'd also like to get the current final draft book finished before then too, if I can.
Jim wrote: "obviously you're the calibre of person who adds gravitas to a jury. I've never been asked"I add something - gravitas may not be it though.
Last time was a bit farcical. The trial collapsed after we spent more time out in the corridor - waiting for them to resolve legal arguments without the jury - than we actually spent in the court room.
It is worth doing though , if you get the chance, if only for the experience.
A friend of mine was called up - and selected - three times. I've never been called, even though we have fifteen on a jury in Scotland and you'd think they might need me eventually!
Lexie wrote: "A friend of mine was called up - and selected - three times. I've never been called, even though we have fifteen on a jury in Scotland and you'd think they might need me eventually!"They must be saving you for something REALLY important.
Lexie wrote: "A friend of mine was called up - and selected - three times. I've never been called, even though we have fifteen on a jury in Scotland and you'd think they might need me eventually!"It is actually the third time I've been called up. I got out of the first one as I was a house
I got called for the jury pool once, and went despite chronic illness. But after one defense attorney released me with a peremptory (ie, no reason need be given) from one jury, and a prosecutor released me the same way on the next case, I invoked said illness and told the jury manager to send me home. The experience would have been interesting, maybe, but the process of getting thrown off juries wasn't.
Edited a chapter yesterday and managed one the day before also so the mammoth edit is proceeding ....
800 or so today. Not bad going and it's all shaping up nicely. Wish I could write it a bit faster though.
Taking McMini to look at a school today so he's only at his school from 1.30 a 3.00 doubt I'll get much done.
East Lothian schools all finish at lunchtime on a Friday. I'm sure it's a real pain for working parents but I always used to enjoy a lazy afternoon with my girls :)I did 5 mini paintings yesterday (OK it's not words but I'm trying to enter into the spirit of things)
Finished my quota from yesterday and made a minor start on today's. I think paintings should count - yours are lovely, Rosemary! Mary, hope the school visit went well - not long since we did the same and fortunately it's worked out really well so far (all you can really ask for with children, I think - 'fine so far'!).
Only 684 words today in the actual 1st draft, but also added a fair bit to the project notes that adds another wrinkle further on in the story as a consequence of what I wrote today.
500 so far today, at the expense of everything else but never mind! Off out now but maybe a bit more later. I'm starting to get ideas to fill the missing bit in the middle, now got to work out how it's going to get to the end.
Definitely Kath, think I've figured out where I've stalled before, I've always tried to write linearly, now I'm just writing bits and rearranging them! I'm loving Scrivener for that, makes it so much easier!
Added to the story and prepared a new version of an old fairy tale classic to add to the blog. Or perhaps it should be Ye Blog at the moment

I've managed 1,000 words today as a result.

Hooray, finally done my quota! But found that I'd accidentally written in this chapter not only the events for this one but also the events for the next one, which consequently now has no plan. Ho hum. Nearly at the end, though: about a squillion loose ends to tie up.

Done my quota - now trying to mark scripts over two computers while also wrapping books for a giveaway - something is going to go wrong.
