I am really enjoying this series. I haven't started on it yet. I want to finish the other two BOTM's before I start on this. It might be a week or so.
I read this book and although it was good it reminded me too much of Unsung Hero. Poletti is trying to stop some sort of commemoration and no one will listen and he believes that there is going to be trouble and of course there is. If it wasn't for Poletti and the seals there would be a LOT more deaths. My only other criticism is that the climax was almost anti-climatic. It started and then it was over. Frankly i would give this book a 2 1/2 - 3. I am looking forward to Gone Too Far. Mary Lou is found dead, and I am guessing Sam is believed to be the killer. (don't know, just guessing)
I'm over 1/3 of the way through the book. I'm having a little trouble liking this one as well as the others in the series. I'm not terribly enamored with the character of Joan DaCosta. I think she is kind of a snot, especially the way she treats Mike. How annoying to keep calling him "Junior".
I so agree with you. I know it is to keep reminding herself that she is what 6 years older than him. REALLY? She really likes him and she can't get over the age difference. Who says the man has to be older?

I felt the ending was very rushed through. It seemed like there should be a "To be continued" message put at the end. There were so many unresolved issues. I'm glad that Mike and Joan were able to come together and I really enjoyed the story about Vince and Joan DaCosta. However, the whole Mary Lou Starrett storyline was very bizarre and there are still a whole lot of unanswered questions about the terrorists. Three stars was the best I could do on this one. I'm also anxious to read Gone Too Far. Hopefully, we will get the answers to the questions left hanging.

Against her better judgment, Joan finds herself drawn to the handsome young officer. Skilled at being “one of the guys” in the mostly male world of politics, she is dismayed when Muldoon breaks through her defenses. While tension mounts between them, fueling their growing attraction, a far more sinister danger is lurking, as terrorists plot a daring attack against the president. To protect their commander in chief, Joan and Muldoon must not only risk their hearts—but their very lives. . . .
